  1. Creating a new event on mobile by clicking and dragging on the calendar

    Hi Proton team,
Due to the nature of mobile or tablet being touch screen, I usually find myself setting a calendar invite directly on the calendar at the time I want it using my finger to click and drag down. This would be a great feature to add.

Right now it's possible to use the button to create a new event, but it always adds it to the day I'm viewing, and the time I'm creating the invite. E.g., if it's 8p on Jan 13th today, and I want to create an event on Feb 1st at 3p. It opens…

  2. Support third party integrations (Zoom, Calendly)

Would you be able to have Calendly and Zoom be integrated into your calendar? This will help me have Zoom links and email reminders saved in my Proton Mail business mail calendar without having to rely on my Gmail calendar and account for these features which is the whole point of moving away from Gmail and into Proton Mail and save me money from paying Gmail and Proton Mail for the same service. I would absolutely love it to have you be able to integrate Calendly and Zoom into Proton Calendar. This will help me run my business smoothly without…

  3. Vertical Scrolling in Month View

I like being able to keep more of the previous month in view while I scroll to a new month.

  4. Reminder emails - appointment details in Subject line

Would it be possible to add the appointment/meeting tite in the Subject line for reminders that are send via email? So when you get the reminder you do immediately know what is about instead some generic title and then you have to go to your calendar to check which appointment the reminder refers to? Thanks.

  6. Remove colon (:) necessity for easier scheduling

Would be great if we could input "1845" and not necessarily "18:45" so we can just use the numpad and go on to the next input field.

I use the keyboard to fill in the whole thing but typing the colon takes more time and just inputting numbers and just pressing "tab" would make it a lot easier.

  7. Fantastical Integration

Due to work needs, we cannot give up Google and Outlook. If your services are more easily accessible, this will encourage more users to join Proton Calendar.
Many Mac users will choose Fantastical. It is recommended to integrate your service into well-known calendar apps, such as Fantastical and Readdle Calendar.

  8. Forward calendar events

I'd like to have a way to take a specific event, or a series of events, and forward it to someone else. Similar to how Outlook does it. This person will get a calendar invite and the owner will get an email telling them their calendar invite was forwarded.

  9. Widget Monthly View

Currently an added benefit on that I see to the Google Calendar widget and Samsung Calendar, compared to the Proton Calendar, is an array of widget display options.

Currently, Proton Calendar only allows for an agenda-style view, which just lists in sequence what is going on. But it would be helpful to see your month at a glance without actually having to click into the app. Or, like the Samsung App, it gives you a month view and an agenda view side by side.

Giving users the ability to pick a style fits their use case will improve the number…

  10. Improve workflow with context menu

Using Proton Calendar can be made faster and more intuitive by allowing as many basic actions as possible to be completed without context menus and confirmation prompts. See below for the full explanation.

    • Allow event duration to be modified by dragging event extremities.

    • Allow more granular control over event duration, in 15/10/5 minute increments.

    • Allow an option to disable confirmation prompts when making changes by dragging/extending events.

The Proton Calendar can be very slow and old-fashioned. Making changes requires opening a menu and confirming changes. Even after the context menu, saving the changes takes a few moments. This makes planning…

  11. Shared calendar as default

My spouse and I use one shared calendar (currently on iCloud). It is a shared family calendar that we both have set as the default calendar for new appointments.

In Proton Calendar you can share a calendar and edit the shared calendar, but you can't set that shared calendar as your default. Big miss for us and a reason not to switch to Proton Calendar yet.

  12. Many important dates are missing from US holiday calendar

The recently added holiday calendars are a great addition, but I find that the holidays included for my country are too limited. I live in the US, and what our government designates as "official" holidays lacks a large number of significant holidays and other important dates.

Some notable holiday exclusions include Father's Day, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and even Easter!

As for other important dates that are missing, Tax Day, Election Day, and the start and end of Daylight Saving Time may not be holidays, but they are still very important dates to know!

    Google Calendar includes all of…

  13. Toggle to split desktop notifications for mail and calendar (to prioritize event notifications)

Almost everyone needs calendar notifications on their desktop/laptop, but many people don't want email notifications distracting them while they work. We need to not miss our meetings and events while also not getting distracted by emails.

    Please either:

    • Split calendar notifications from mail notifications with a toggle for each instead of just "notifications on" or "notifications off"

    • Or, provide Proton Calendar as a separate desktop app

  15. Separate mail and calendar into different apps

add a separate proton calendar icon to the Proton mail/calendar app, so you can directly open the calendar without opening the mail app.
for example the ms mail and calendar app is one app but it behaves as a mail and a separate calendar app.

  16. Show drive time based on event and starting location

like apple calendar when you add a location, you can then select a time to leave and put in a starting location, then based on the starting location and the location of the enent, automatically sets the time to leave based on map data like apple maps.

on the event it shows the driving time aobe the actual start time of the event.

example 15 min drive and the event starts at 10:00pm there would be a drive time event 15min above and attached to the event as the drive time to the event.

this is great as you can…

  18. Time Blocking & Scheduling meetings

We should definitely have time blocking, as this is a big part of productivity. I still use iCal when I want to switch over to Proton Cal, but I cannot because I need to schedule a meeting that is connected to Calandly. Notion Calendar (formally Cron) has both features, which are so useful, but they only have the connection to Google, for which I made the decision to leave Google two years ago. Please go to Notion calendar and see the features they have that you guys can implement, but MAKE IT BETTER!!!!!!
