  1. Add "do not allow mailbox password recovery" option

I don't really like how you need a recovery email to keep the strength of two passwords. Without a recovery email someone technically only needs your login password and just reset the mailbox password to access your account.

Can you please add a "Do not allow mailbox password recovery" option in the settings? For those who choose not to enter a recovery email but enjoys the security of needing 2 passes.

  4. Would there be a way to incorporate images with a link in your signature?

I'm not the most tech savvy that's why I use this email for everything after getting all other accounts hacked. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator just thought it would own if my sig could be a very short wide image of one of my paintings with a link embedded in the image to my website. Would be super cool but probably asking allot.

  5. Allow spam emails to be submitted to protonmail un-encrypted so that it can be used for future spam filtering

Many emails will be missed through spam filters till it gains knowledge. I think allowing emails that a user considers as spam to protonmail servers will possibly allow to improve detecting spam messages.

  7. Being able to type inn the emailacount I'm donating for WHEN I'm donating.

The topic says it all really. It will also mean less emails for you to handle wade through as well. So a win-win.
Don't count on everyone using the same email for their paypal and their protonmail account. As it is now, is less than stellar.

  8. Use a .plist to install the app.

Just an idea, but you all have a certificate right? Why not just use your service to distribute the iOS app?

Just make a folder, or subdomain, like "install.protonmail.ch", upload a compiled version of the app, and make an install .plist. Reference the .plist on the site, and Tada! The app's installing!

    Idk. Just an idea. :/

  9. forwarding and redirecting of encrypted messages, non-encrypted

Sometimes I send a non-Protonmail user an encrypted message, but I would like to have a copy of it for my own use, in a safe mailbox with another provider.

However, it seems that an encrypted message on Protonmail remains encrypted under all circumstances, forever. Could you please add a button that decrypts an encrypted message before it is forwarded / redirected?

  10. Hashing/Hash Integrity Checks of Client-Side Code (Trust & MITM Protection)

Since this is a browser-based service we rely on the security of your client-side code (Javascript and all that is HTML5). Unfortunately we have no way of verifying the integrity of the code running in our browsers from your domain. Your client-side code should be documented to some degree and a hash taken of all html/css/script files. This hash should be made available in plain site for all users so that they can compare it to a public hash somewhere on the site so that we can verify the code we're running is the code everyone else is running. That…

  11. Auto login URL's

Basically this: Make it possible to create URL's that automatically redirects to my inbox, without the need to enter any of my credentials.

Obviously, it should be possible to restrict the URL in various ways; possibly including:
    1. IP restriction: Only whitelisted IP's may utilize the URL.
    2. Remote deletion: Various convenient options to remotely render individual URL's (or all) useless.
    3. Max uses: Set a maximum number of daily logins, and shut it down if this number is exceeded.
    4. Timeout: Set a maximum life time on the URL, rendering it useless after that time has passed.

    The resulting…

  13. Shutdown automaticaly

After some time of inaction in the browser, PM must shut-down and you need to re-enter your encryption password. ( like PC-banking program) JM

  14. Leftovers of expired mails in gmail and other mailboxes.

After expiry of the mail there should be no residue in any mail or gmail accounts. That person might not be able to access the content anymore but the true purpose of an encrypted mail is lost.

  16. A read receipt for encrypted email sent to external users would be extremely useful.

I'd like to be able to have a read receipt on encrypted email sent to external users. I'd prefer it to be non-optional.

  20. Translation and choice

It would be very useful to translate (or customize) the message sent to a non-PM user, with invitation to read the encrypted message.
It can be made very simply : just open a new area, and custom the message before and ad after the link which will be sent. In the preference of the account, user will be able to customize this message as they want : the aim is to improve the identification of the sender.
