Desktop: replace "X more" by visual indicator (like in Android)
In Monthly view, when all events cannot be displayed on a given day (say there is 3 more), a "3 more" link appears.
On Android, instead, a visual miniature indicator appears such that it shows the event without the text.It should be the same on the desktop app, especially since the information density is very low (with the default font size and without fullscreen mode, I can only display one event per day on my laptop).

Enable Ability to Filter Archived Emails In/Out when in All Mail View
Many Proton users rely on All Mail to see everything at once, but archived messages quickly clutter the view and make it harder to find recent or active emails. A simple toggle to include or exclude archived emails—especially in All Mail—would make navigation much cleaner and more efficient.
If this would help your workflow too, please vote for this feature so Proton’s developers can consider adding it.
Thanks to the Proton developers for taking community feedback seriously and continually improving the platform. Many of the user ideas have been implemented and made it easier to use Proton Mail.

Remove the name from “from” field
The app or your webapp should not have to include the name of the account. Tuta clearly does not need it to work or any IMAP privacy oriented provider.
Or there is no need to have the capability to create alias if there will be the name of your account printed out in the from field.
So please just make a way to change the name of account to nothing so we can also use other mail forwarding system like addy1 vote -
New alias domains
I attempted to make an account with New York Times on 6/3/2026 using a Proton alias with domain passmail.net and was told to "enter a valid email address". I think the domain is now possibly being added to blacklists. This is the first time I have encountered the issue.
It may help if Proton would once in a while add a new domain for aliases that we could use as a backup. As time goes on, "passmail.net" may be added to more and more blacklists, rendering the alias feature non-functional.

Hard to find Gmail connection and set it up
I love the Gmail connection you just rolled out May 2026 but it was very hard for me to find where it is / understand what button I should hit to make it work

Allow filters to work with simply the domain of the email address
I've tried this but it simply does not catch the emails in question. Please make it work, it would drastically reduce the number of filters we need, thanks!

Raise the number of possible filters active at the same time
I am so so far from having set up all of the filters I need for my emails and there's a maximum number of them? I'm a paying customer. We should be able to have an unlimited number.
Especially since @domain.com filters don't work, you can only filter full email addresses for the label filter to correctly function.1 vote -
Make iPad Calendar app compatible with Apples app windows.
The iPad Calendar app from Proton is not compatible with the Apple iOS app windows system. Changes should be done to make it compatible.

Disable mobile app notifications for spam e-mail (Android)
Please consider adding the option to disable mobile notifications for e-mails that are considered spam. Currently those e-mails (those added to the Spam folder), have notifications on the Android app, along with the non-spam e-mails.

more defaults for each calendar
Basically all options able to be defaulted to any calendar. Duration (including all day), notifications (type and frequency), location, even details and the options to come (like attachments).
One calendar is "Birthdays" while one calendar is "Meetings." We can see how the defaults would be very different here yes? Every birthday is saved as all day and will want to be reminded further out. Meetings are probably short specific times and reminders are closer to the date. This is true for each and every calendar yes?
I'd say a big opportunity to increase efficiency here.

filter mail by mail type (aka protonmail or google)
I've just connected my gmail to my proton mail... It doesn't have an option to filter by where the mail came from. Please let me toggle the gmail mails in and out or even just have a separate tab. My protonmail account is very clean (no subscriptions, email lists etc) so getting all the google stuff mixed in is too much. Might have to disconnect the gmail account.

Can you make Folder Filter Quantity & Modification possible?
While your automatic setup of folder filters is very nice, I now get "too many filters" if I try to add any. Also, there seems to be no place to find and eliminate filters that are no longer needed. In Thunderbird, though I have to set up filters, I can see which are present, where they are directed, and can modify or remove them. And so far, I've never hit a 'limit'. Some kind of similar arrangement would be nice. Side note: because of 'too many filters' I now have to 'move' email manually every time, so the filtering function…

Remove secret-service requirement from Proton Mail Bridge (Linux)
Proton Mail Bridge for Linux's requirement for a secret-service adds complexity to the installation process. Even using the
passutility as suggested, GPG also needs to be installed and a GPG key generated to initialize the password store. Removing the secret service requirement would simplify the installation, reduce the 'weight' of the installation (number of steps and installed packages), and simplify what needs to be backed up. Simplify Proton Mail Bridge configuration
I have a growing list of self-hosted services, and am moving toward unattended installation and reinstallation. Proton Mail Bridge creates a challenge as it wants to be configured using an interactive CLI. Using the 'expect' utility doesn't work well because of the way log messages are presented. Providing the inputs via stdin is fragile for items such as imap-security (not idempotent) and autoupdate (confirmation prompt only when changing). I'd like to see a better way to set this up.

To find a Date for a group of people it would be nice to be able to allow multiple selections of daten and an option to set a most choosen option as final date.

Setting: Automatic Outgoing Email Expiration Time
I would like the option to set a default expiration time for all outgoing emails.
While it's already possible to manually set an expiration date on individual messages, it's easy to forget to do so before sending. A global setting would allow users to automatically apply an expiration period (for example, one year) to every email they send.
Users who enable this feature could still adjust or disable the expiration time on a per-email basis when needed. This would provide a convenient privacy-focused default while maintaining flexibility for exceptions.

Support for custom Return-Path / Envelope-From in Proton SMTP
Currently, Proton SMTP requires the Return-Path (envelope sender) to match the authenticated sending address. This makes it impossible to use dedicated bounce addresses such as bounce@domain.com, which are required by many business applications, including Odoo, CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and newsletter tools.
Please add support for a custom Return-Path / envelope sender while still enforcing that the domain belongs to a verified Proton Mail domain. This would enable proper bounce processing, DMARC-compliant email workflows, and integration with common business software without requiring external SMTP relay services.
This feature would significantly improve Proton Mail's suitability as a business email platform.
