Add auto-capitalise setting to Proton Mail composer
In Proton Mail composer there should be an option to enable auto-capitalise (i.e. make first letter of paragraph and first letter after full-stop a capital automatically).
Whilst iOS does this for you. This is not done for you on Windows and there is no option to enable it globally on Windows, it has to be done on a software level basis (see, for example, settings in Microsoft Word)

Proton Scribe Comparison
Hi,
I have been using Proton Scribe for a bit now and wanted a bit more of a thought out experience when using it.
I feel that a lot of the functionality has just been crammed into the email writer.
One example I have is the Proof Read function that just covers your email with the edited version not showing what it changed.
I think that a more thought out experience when using it might help drive adoption for example showing sections that would be changed and being able to make specific edits not just change the whole thing.1 vote -

Tell people Auto reply has a time delay!
I spent a whole day setting up an auto reply so people requesting a particular link got the link in an automated reply.
IF (grrr!) you had made it clear (at the point of creating a Filtered Auto Reply) that once used, you have a time delay... I'd NOT have spent a fruitless day testing and finding it stopped working.
After a lot of chatting with Lumo, we (Lumo and I) realised that it worked fine, THE FIRST time, but would, obviously, fail a retest.
Please make this time delay clear on the filtered auto reply set up point.

Please add a toggle for the email background in dark mode!
Please add a toggle for the email background in dark mode. The glaring white backgrounds in dark mode are unbearable—you practically need sunglasses! Just look at Thunderbird to see how well it works. And please, let's not have to wait months or years for this...

When replying to an email, signature is placed above quoted text. It would be nice to have option to place it below quoted text.

Enable rule setting also for the new inbox categories
Please also allow to set rules that certain domains always get into a certain category. I guess the best way to implement it would be to allow the rules to also move emails to a certain category when you receive them. Maybe also allow us to see and edit the dynamics behind the automated categorisation. This would definitely be the nicer change and could also integrate several other wishes from this forum, but I think increasing the possibilities within rules is quicker.

better filters for forwarding email
When defining a forwarding filter the expression is either a conjunction (&&) or a disjunction (||). However, the UI lists a AND/OR selection for every single atomic expression. This is misleading. It took my several months of wondering why the expression isn't working until I surprisingly realized that when selecting AND between two filters, everything is ANDed. Because I can only define one filter for every recipient, I thought I could define a filter respecting precedence (punkt vor strich / AND before OR) but actually. This didn't work.

Slack to Teams Migration: Best Way
If you're planning a Slack to Teams migration, I’d recommend starting small instead of trying to move everything at once.
For a small workspace, you can manually recreate Teams channels, download important Slack files, upload them to Teams, and copy over critical messages or information. Before migrating, it’s also worth cleaning up unused channels and deciding what data actually needs to be moved.
The main issue with the manual approach is that it gets difficult pretty quickly when you have lots of channels, DMs, files, and message history. User mapping, attachments, replies, and older conversations can easily be missed.

Simple Contacts button or Contacts app on the PC version
Add a separate Contacts app or Contacts button for the PC version of Mail. It's hard to modify contacts from the PC version of Mail. It's annoying that I have to log in to the web version just to access the Contacts button in the browser. The older mail programs were easier to use and were more efficient. Some people may want to import and export Contacts from other apps. They may want to create labels. Apply this to all desktop versions (PC, Apple, Linux).

Quality of email life issues and suggestions
All mail: I understand that this could be from a 'trying to make the transition from Gmail smoother' perspective. However, I have had major issues with Gmail, of certain mail only going to All mail and not showing up in my inbox. I would really appreciate if there was a way to turn this off because I never check All mail. I understand that people can find it very useful. Mail keyboard shortcut to toggle Column/Row layout
Very often I get an email that has too much content or too small a font to read in the Column view that I usually have enabled (because having to click into every email that comes in is insane). The only way to go "full screen" on the email is to switch into Row view. But I have to open up the settings (which further constrains limited laptop real estate), toggle, read my email, then toggle back, and hide settings.

Default to sending email as plaintext, even when replying to HTML email
I have Proton Mail configured to send emails in plaintext. This works when I am sending a new email (not in an existing thread). However, most emails I receive are in HTML format. When I reply to an email in HTML format, the composer defaults to HTML instead of following my setting to use plaintext. It would be nice if there was some way to get the HTML/plaintext user preference for the composer to be able to override this behaviour, as it is rather annoying to have to fix this almost every time I send a reply.

Read receipt sent by me configurable or in my language
The read receipt sent by me if I read a mail is sent by API request against Proton servers without the ability to determine the content or at least the language used in.
It would be great if I could configure that in some way, preferred in the main configuration of my Proton Mail account.

Show calendar events that span multiple calendar days, but have start and end times at the start and end time, on day view
On desktop, when you have an event that spans across midnight but is just a few hours long, it shows in the normal day view. This is what I would expect for a calendar interface. But on mobile, as soon as an event crosses over the midnight threshold, it shows as an all-day event across both calendar days that it touches.
This is confusing because it leads me to believe that my calendar is not occupied at the time those events are scheduled. The mobile functionality should match desktop: show these events in the day view, not as all day…

Email Folder Colors NOT Randomized When Toggled On
Currently, unless I'm using it incorrectly, when I select "Use folder colors," it randomizes colors for all the folders. You can then toggle on "Inherit color from parent folder," but the color choice for those are randomized also. And again if you toggle that off, it randomly selects colors for every single folder in your email. Let's say you want to just highlight one email in a section-- you now have to hand change every single folder.
It would be better if they all stayed the standard color unless actively changed.

Change the Proton Calendar app name on Android in Calendar / Agenda
On Android, the app name is displayed as “Proton Calendar”. On many launchers there isn't enough space, so only “Proton…” is visible. This makes it hard to distinguish Proton Calendar from other Proton apps at a glance.
Please either:
- shorten the Android launcher label to “Calendar”, or
- allow users to choose a shorter launcher name, e.g. “Calendar” / “Agenda”.
The Proton branding is already clear from the icon, so displaying “Calendar” would make the app much easier to identify.2 votes -
What is an MBOX Viewer and how can it help?
