  2. Please remove advertisement on Proton Mail home web page

I subscribe to Proton Unlimited, I don't want to upgrade, and after seeing the advertisement a few dozen times it is starting to annoy me.

    Thanks,
    Mark

  3. Proper "dumb" composer mode without automatic HTML formatting

It would be very useful for users of browser extensions like Markdown Here if the email composer could be configured to avoid any and all automatic formatting features. As a mathematician, I am constantly using Markdown Here for formulas in my emails, but this means I am perpetually wrestling with email clients (including ProtonMail's client) which think they're smarter than me and constantly mangle my writing even as I am typing it. Plain text mode is no solution to this--I need to be able to use certain features of HTML formatting, but only when I actually ask for it with…

  4. block domain button

The "block messages from this sender" option is great. Please add an option beneath to "block messages from this domain" because future messages from the domain still require blocking. This would save lots of time compared to the Filters page in settings.

  5. Proton Pass Yubikey support

So the new Proton Password manager is great n all but it needs better security on the browser extension.
No Yubikey (or similar) support, using a pin to unlock rather than say a pass phase. Thankfully the app has biometrics.

  7. Create reminder from email

User can flag an email as something they wish to be reminded about and have the ability to set a date & time user would like to be reminded. Reminder will populate with the email subject as the reminder text and link the email to the reminder for user reference.

  8. Make the custom folder refresh button stay in place

While in a custom folder in the web client, the refresh button is placed next to the currently open folder's name. But when the user hovers their mouse cursor over the folder's name, the refresh button suddenly shifts to the left and the folder options button takes its place. This means when the user goes to click where the refresh button was, they will accidentally click the options button instead. This is such a bad UI design.

Either the refresh button should stay in place and the options button should appear to the left of that, or the refresh button…

  10. "Show details" by default to see full "To:" email address

Currently, in the web app, to see the email address of my received email, I have to click a little down arrow in the message header, or hover the mouse over the aliased "To" field. Since I use a lot of different email addresses, I want the full email address to be seen in the default header - not aliased.

  14. Filter on sender does not filter on email name

At the moment when filtering an sender email it looks like the filter is only working on the mail address, not on the mail name.

So a filter for MyService will not trigger with this sender:

    "MyService" noreply@paypal.com

This topic is to fix the current implementation to allow for whole header matching.

  15. Display the newest email in a thread at the top of the thread list, not the bottom

In the case where a user has a long thread of emails (e.g. they get a monthly email over and over, and archive those emails instead of deleting them) it doesnt take very many messages before the thread becomes difficult to navigate.

Primarily, this is caused by the fact that each new email in a thread is shown at the BOTTOM of the thread (after all the previously received and read emails) instead of the TOP.

This results in a lot of pointless scrolling to get past all the messages the user has already processed in order to view the…

  18. Allow override of "Your email address is not in the participants list" error

Meeting invites coming in via a simple login alias present an error
"Your email address is not in the participants list" with no option to accept.
ideally this message would not appeear at all for aliases that can be verified in simplelogin for the given proton account.
however my request at this time is to change this from a hard blocking error to a warning, that allows the user to acknowledge the risk ad add the event to the calendar anyway.

  19. unhide the "edit" icon in Contacts list

I have a screenshot I wish I could share on THIS POST because it will help you see what I am describing.

In proton MAIL, the Contacts sidebar, I search for a contact. If I hover mouse over one contact, two icons appears over the contact... a pencil/COMPOSE and 2-squares/COPY. What is missing?? We need a third icon next to those 2 icons for EDIT (to edit the contact.)

What is NOT missing? Actually, we can already click on the contact name and the window will popup to edit the contact data. The functionality already exists, HOWEVER, this was not…

  20. Russian Doll design

I truly dislike what I call the "Russian Doll" design of Proton email threads. On a long email thread with multiple contributors, Proton email very quickly becomes non-intuitive and difficult to navigate. Why is it exactly, that previous messages need to be embedded as sub-messages within each reply or new message on the same thread? It makes no sense, and is confusing. The design of email thread ought to be LINEAR....where each new reply or new message should be added after the previous message. The design-approach of redundantly embedding previous messages is clunky at best. In my opinion, this should…
