dynamic aliases
I would like to suggest the availability in Proton mail of "dynamic aliases".
By this feature, when a website asks your email, you can enter your regular proton mail email prefix (like "john.martin") followed by a "+" sign, then any keyword you would like.
For example, when John Martin wants to create an account on Amazon site, he would enter "john.martin+amazon@pm.me".
The Proton mail system would detect this dynamic alias and ignore the + sign and the suffix and process the email as "john.martin@pm.me".
This allows to create "on the fly" aliases.

In the Windows, the navigation sidebar shows number of unread messages next to the name of each folder, e.g. "Inbox [3]". Clicking on the number should switch the view to Unread Only. This feels like a very natural affordance, and I find myself doing it all the time even though I know it doesn't work.

Protected Tags
Heja!
I would find it helpful if it were possible to define some tags as special "protected" tags. Those then should keep e-mails which have those tags protected from accidental deletion.
For example I have a tag "Family" and a rule applies it to email from, well, my family. Sometimes I don't realize that I also delete those emails when I do mass deletions in the inbox or from cleanup-searches.

Paste without format
I've been looking everywhere and there is no option of pasting without formatting on Mac. This wouldn't be an issue if we are talking about notes but this is an email some of us use for professional purposes and this feature is so basic considering other offerings that I'm surprised it doesn't exist yet.

Permanantly Attach File to Footer
People in many professions are required to provide disclosures in every email sent, this is tedious with Proton currently because there is no way to permanently attach a file to your email footer. For Proton to continue to grow into the B2B market, this is a necessary feature.

Reply as Gmail
Even after switching from Gmail, many of us still rely on it for non-essential accounts or less relevant conversations. Ideally, there should be a way to reply from ProtonMail while appearing to respond from the Gmail address. This would maintain both continuity and consistency, without exposing the ProtonMail account. As we all know, fully moving away from Google is nearly impossible. And simple login is not the best solution for it. Any way to do something about this?

Whitelist Proton domain for PlayStation account
Not sure where to post this. Proton mail can't be used with Playstation account. I'm forced to stick with Gmail. Would it be possible for the Proton Team to push this change request to Sony? Thanks!

Hide the system title bar and move the window controls into the toolbar on the desktop app
Would it be possible to hide the system title bar and move the window controls into the top toolbar on the desktop app, using that as a custom title bar? The Electron framework the desktop app is based on has an API for doing this (https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/tutorial/custom-title-bar). This would make the desktop app more visually appropriate on, for example, Linux desktops running the Gnome desktop environment, but it would also be a better match for a growing trend in Windows and Mac OS X apps.

Please, please, please work on the Mac client.
It really feels nothing at all like a typical Mac application.
I suggest that someone sit down with the standard Apple Mail client for a while. Maybe try something else, like Thunderbird. Why is Proton Mail so different? Check out the Human Interface Guidelines.

Have better support for the ARM
I would really like to see the desktop app optimized for the ARM architecture to allow better app performance. Especially on my Samsung Galaxy Book with the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chipset, the desktop app in it's current state runs slow on it but is usable for my usage as windows emulates what it was built for. May I suggest having a separate option for those that choose to download it for ARM systems, that or have the installer detect the architecture on the system.

Add a "star" on the desktop toolbar that is visible while reading an email. One has to scroll to the top to add a star or exit & star..
When I'm reading an email and need to follow up, I have to either scroll to the top of the email so I can click the star on the top right (if it is not visible, i.e., a long email), or exit the email and hope that it didn't get lost in the sea of emails, and then "star" it. The star could be placed next to the "mark as unread" button.

Sieve regex testing
Provide an interface (as part of filter creation, etc) to test sieve functions, especially regex, against a selection of email or email header input to verify matches.
This would greatly reduce headache and troubleshooting of filters as emails happen to come into the inbox.
