They want people to remain within their ecosystem.

If they allow email forwarding, people will simply forward their emails to Gmail or Outlook and no longer use Proton (thereby defeating the company's mission)

I am also disappointed that I cannot forward my emails... I was paying for an upgraded version for some time, and due to other limitations decided to finally go back to gmail account. It's frustrating and was quite a tough process!

Yes, even to another PM account... It's a pain not to have this functionality (with a paid account). For instance, the insurances mails for me and my partner go to one address only and one has to forward manually each one of them.

I have referred countless people and businesses to Proton over the years and MANY OF THEM have either not switched or switched and then shortly switched back to their previous setup after realizing these limitations.

There are many threads just like this one, and this one has >1200 votes and has been going on for over 6 years now.

This is another issue I have that keeps me using Zohomail - I want to set up a filter to send some emails to a secondary email address (email to sms, anyone?). Zoho has no issue, but proton doesn't provide this option? Got too many emails, will have to trim the fat soon, and if one provider does everything I need and the other doesn't, well...

Add forwarding to the inbox filter actions. I.e. be able to automatically forward messages to an email address according to filter rules

Occasionally I need to forward a cleartext email from Zoom and the few others (such as twitter & FB)) for which I use use my ProtonMail account for anonymity.

I wanted to send a message to a small group with the salutation being individual names. Could not see how to do that, so ended up laboriously creating individual emails, 3 at a time (max allowed). Could not use controlA to select and copy because that goes elsewhere in Protonmail. Tried forwarding to myself - what???? No forwarding?? You're kidding!

I have messages set to forward to me from that account and automatically apply a label, but I would like to then forward from my account to her email so she also has a copy. This is a SUPER important function that will ultimately force me to leave Proton and use another service if they have this function. I don't understand why you haven't developed such a basic function into your service after so many years. It is time to do some work and get updated so people can really use your service. If you don't, someone else will and you will lose your business before you know what hit you.

So what if anything is going to be done Proton?
Everyone forewords mail including your staff. Besides receiving mail the ability to forward it is a no brainer.
Please issue a concise answer right away.
