Nested folders
Need the ability to have nested folders to allow for better email management.

This really is a key feature that is missing (especially for nerds like us who would use protonmail in the first place!)

I was thinking about upgrading just because I need more folders. But seeing that I can't have nested folders is making me have 2nd thoughts.

I agree with other comments below -- nested folders is an essential feature, and it's surprising it's not already part of Protonmail.

Hi, I love protonmail's vision and would love to move my business email to protonmail. However, given the amount of mail I've got, missing out on nested folders is a real deal-breaker for me. I hope this will be implemented soon so that can move away from G-mail.

I was expecting nested folders to exist in ProtonMail. I'm very disappointed.

Totally unacceptable that you don't provide nested folders. Listen to your customers and stop the ideological war... Make ProtonMail the greatest email tool !

I can't believe you don't have nested folders, it's ridiculous - you need this asap, otherwise I'll just leave and go elsewhere, despite the fact I bought a one year subscription.

I agree that nested folders is absolutely essential if PM is to be a viable email service. It is more or less useless to me without it.
Come on guys, get with the times!

If you will still be resisting to add nested-folders feature I will quit using ProtonMail service at all. It is unbelievable that in these days such e-mail service like ProtonMail does not support nested-folders. Is it really that hard to add this functionality? Come on Guys, do it immediately otherwise you will be losing your clients. I am not going to pay for something that does not meet the basic requirements of users.

Even if you can use a "/" slash to work with subfolders (Thunderbird), it is not working.
1. Because you can not create a new subfolder/sublabel from Thunderbird
2. You can not move emails to a subfolder/sublabel from Thunderbird
3. You can not collapse.I just pay 288 EUR for a year with the "visionnary" version.
In 2018, without this kind of options, this is just a shame.
And the Android App is buggy, slow, without automatic sync for the contact...
All this Protonmail smell like I loose 288EUR and like it is a 0.9 version... Normally companies keep a Beta free version until it goes really sharp. This is called credibility. -

Nested folders seems like something that one would expect to exist. Odd that it doesn't - especially in 2018.

I would love nested folders, I have a lot of different categories accumulating and it doesn't make sense to have one long list of folders that is becoming a nightmare to search through

Really want this feature! Moving from Gmail this was a feature I used all the time. For example I'd have a Banking folder and then nested under that I'd have a folder for Bank 1, Bank 2, etc. Why do labels and folders act the same?

I upgraded to ProtonMail plus to have more than three folders and to be able to nest them.
I am sadly surprised ProtonMail, neither in the paid version, offers this basic features.
I do hope to see this update very soon!
Best regards.

Nested folders will provide a huge benefit and adds another use-case for ProtonMail. Many people I know (myself included) are looking for long-term encrypted storage for archived email accessible from multiple machines. Although the current search functionality seems capable, one cannot easily copy over archived nested folders from a non-ProtonMail mailbox into ProtonMail.
Nested folders are integral to the way some people organise their existing mailboxes and therefore vital to this use-case.

Just signed up for ProtonMail+ and was really shocked to see there are no nested folders - honestly I didn´t know that was still a thing. Certainly won´t renew if this doesn´t change and I´m already looking for another service.

you can manage this with labels/folders by using a prefix to simulate a "directory". I do this to order/organise sub-context of a main topic.
The only 'feature' of nested folders this doesn't give you is the ability to collapse. That's it!
I'd rather the devs work on their values for this product than overhaul/rework/refactor for such a tiny benefit (collapsible folder/label.. not worth it..)
