Linux Client
Proton Drive really needs the ability to sync desktop files automatically. This post focuses on a Linux client for Proton Drive.

Linux FUSE system makes this kind of integration very easy!

How the heck is this the most requested thing and yet, y'all work on stuff that is really not important compared to this.
Like I love the mentality and the concept of proton, but this needs to be a thing, using Drive with web interface is really not it. -

Una integración con Gnome estaría genial, como ya se hacen con otros servicios en la nube. Para integrar automáticamente calendarios, contactos y espacio de almacenamiento.
An integration with Gnome would be great, as is already done with other cloud services. To automatically integrate calendars, contacts and storage space.

It's been many years that people are requesting this basic functionality.
Web interface is useless, I have no reason to use it. -

This would be a most valuable improvement, even a published API such that the community can develop its own clients would be valuable.

Almost four years on we still have new requests for this capability. Working in a Linux focused company myself, and being a Visionary user of Proton I am going to hazard a guess that, since we already have a solid web UI as well as Proton Bridge for mail on Linux, a Proton sync client for Linux would be FAR more valuable than a dedicated mail app.

I am very happy with of all the brilliant services you provide, but the fact that a sync client for Linux is still lacking makes Proton Drive next to useless to me. This also means that there's hardly any benefit for me for subscribing to a plan with more storage space.

I think it would be awesome to have Proton Drive support for Linux. I use Manjaro Linux on my laptop fulltime, and Windows on my desktop full time. Having a Proton Drive client that allowed me to more easily move files between the 2 and store them in the cloud would be awesome. In the meantime I will continue using the shared folder and then moving them around accordingly.

personally, i'm not on linux, so i don't care about having a gui or cli for linux. however, implementing a protocol compatible with my synology or simply having a universal protocol that lets me interact without using the official proton client seems essential. In the same way that there's a bridge for protonmail or the possibility of importing a safe from another password manager. We need to try and make protondrive more universal, otherwise what's the point of having 6 to that you can't use?

Lots of mentions in the past week about the Linux beta mail client...perhaps this indicates more progress on other Linux development in the near future.
Note: mail app is limited to 14 day trial for the free tier.
