Make Proton Contacts better, please
I would like to have a manageable list for email addresses that are suggested when typing in a recipient. So far only the own contacts are suggested. The list could be similar to the one for spam, no spam and blocked.
At the beginning of Proton Mail, when it was still called Protonmail, it made sense to manage this via the saved contacts. You only used the service for mails anyway. Meanwhile, Proton is becoming a bigger and bigger ecosystem; according to their website, you'll soon (finally) be able to have your Proton contacts synced with your phonebook so apps like Signal can access them. By now, it doesn't make sense to have your contacts so closely tied to your mail service. There will be users who no longer have an email address stored for many contacts (you don't necessarily need them from friends these days). On the other hand, there will be users who have saved an email address for a contact, but will never write to them. For this reason, I have three points I would like to see changed:
An extra list in Proton Mail for known addresses, so that the suggestions are not just contacts.
Email addresses you write to should not be automatically added to your contacts by default, but to this new list. Just because you once wrote to the support of the store site X you don't want to have this contact between all your friends, relatives and work colleagues. That's why I have disabled this option for ages.
The email addresses and especially the names of your contacts should be stored encrypted, like the rest of the contact information. Yes, Proton sees who you mail to, but before they do not need to have that information.
