Add the ability to save emails as PDFs
Add the ability to save emails as PDFs, similar to the "Email Archiver Pro" app on Mac OS, which produces clean PDF copies of individual emails as well as copies of any attachments.

I would like to see a bulk-forward feature so that I can check multiple emails from the home screen and then forward all checked emails at once to a secondary address.

Allow choosing alias addresses in From:-Field when composing or replying to an email
By using an proton alias-email address like "username+alias@protonmail.com" in contact forms, you will receive emails to this alias address in response. However, it is not possible to answer in return using that alias address, i.e., you cannot set in "From:" or "ReplyTo:" fields an alias address.
That is confusing because the From:-email-address is forced to change during a single email communication.
Moreover, in general, it would be good to allow a freely chosen "ReplyTo" or "From" email address, including email-aliases.
Thanks!

Label multiple checked messages messages keyboard shortcut
Gmail has the ability to press "L" while having multiple messages selected and then the ability to immediate begin typing to filter messages.
I think this would be a VERY EASY feature to implement considering if you click the label button it already does the exact functionality I want.
THE EXCEPTION is that the filter box is not auto-focused which would be a requirement for this feature. Again, a very easy change.

unread mailbox or icons
For accessibility reasons an unread box or a more visually distinct way of seeing which emails are unread would be helpful. When most emails are read and only one or two are unread it is difficult to see find the unread mail. I need an icon, different color or very different font to see the difference. More accessibility features in general - (dyslexic font), high contrast, etc.

Archive and Delete buttons icons on messages
I would like to see the archive and delete buttons on each message when I move mouse over it. Unlike the hotkeys, it will allow performing an action on the message without selecting/previewing it.

Add markdown to the composer
I want to be able to write emails in markdown rather then a typical composer. Its cleaner, easier and readable. It could give the edge when sending a email.

Please allow to sort individual mails by attachment size
Actually one can sort only by THREAD size and then has to look for the one mail with the biggest attachment. Sorting individually helps to find (and delete?) the biggest mails

Improve related email handling in conversation view
Conversation view works well for emails except when there is a related email subject that repeats over months.
For instance, I receive emails a few times a month around the same time/date, that all have the same subject line. This happens at least once a month.
These emails are archived in case I need to reference them later.
Ideally, there should be different logic built around this. Perhaps if it's an automated message that appears over and over, at some point it won't "attach" itself to the numerous messages before it.
However, if it is a conversation, this could be…

Trash & Archive icons
Hi, the two icons for "Archive" and "Trash" an e-mail seems confusing: they are located next from each other and have a similar design.
In my opinion, changing this might help ProntonMail users.51 votes -

Make unread emails discernible within a conversation thread.
While emails are collapsed, it would be easier to find the UNREAD messages if they were highlighted or indicated somehow. I have a 17 message thread with 1 unread message that I have to dig just to find. An unread tab filtering system might be an option, too, which would sequester the unread message by itself within the tab, enabling quick ease of access to new messages in very busy conversations.

1 click logout button
Currently it takes 2 clicks to logout of Protonmail. There's no reason for this, 1 is plenty enough. We should have a logout button on top: 1 click and you're out. Simple and fast, that's how it should always be.

Right-click menu / contextual menu option
It would be more comfortable to reach common action commands like reply, delete, archive etc. etc. after an right-click with the mouse on the specific email/folder which reacts with a contextual menu pop-up.

add to bcc from contacts
The ability to select contacts from contact list and compose an email with an option to have the contacts being listed in BCC,CC, or TO. Currently, when composing the default lists everyone in the TO field with no easy way to move the to CC or BCC; they must be manually entered. When sending to multiple contacts it would be great to be able to choose where to list them.

Optional keyring access to enable encrypted communications with external users.
Since this service uses OpenPGP it would be nice to have a simple way to import public keys from external users so two-way encrypted communication could be achieved.
Since the symmetric encryption model requires sharing a password it is vulnerable compared to a true keypair model. For people who aren't scared by PGP (It's really not complicated these days), this creates an incentive not to use your service until manual keyring additions can be made.
