  1. In Android Mail App, support mapping the delete button to delete message not thread.

    Deleting message is more useful than deleting thread. Currently, to delete the message, it takes a scroll to the top and two clicks: one to open the menu, another click to move message to trash. There already is customization of the button toolbar, but mapping to delete message does not seem possible.

  2. Remove DISPLAY NAME field from Contacts

    In Proton Contacts there is a NAME field and a DISPLAY NAME field per contact.
    And in Proton Settings there is another DISPLAY NAME field for your own address(es) (Besides: on top of that, this is APART from ACCOUNT NAME).
    This is confusing to me. I don't see the use of a DISPLAY NAME apart from NAME in my contact list.

    In my logic the application that is receiving an email should show the DISPLAY NAME that the sender has ENCLOSED in the email (for your own outgoing mail this is the DISPLAY NAME in Proton Settings).

  3. Why do Gmail or Outlook exported VCF files fail during CSV conversion?

    I exported contacts from Gmail/Outlook, but some converters throw errors. Which offline tool supports multiple email clients flawlessly?

  4. Get rid of "Proton Mail needs your permission to enable desktop notifications" banner.

    I know this, and if I wanted proton to have permission, I would give it. Why does Proton feel the need to put this in a banner on a paid service? Does proton think it's users are dumb? It is just unnecessary and feels cheap. Also, let's say I enable notifications on my home PC, what if I'm just signing in from a different computer at a friends, work, or school? You gunna prompt me this garbage whenever I sign in? Really annoying.

  5. Calendar Keyboard Shortcut - "Go to"

    I would love to be able to use a shortcut (i.e., Ctrl-g) to go to to a date other than what is currently displayed. Currently, the only way to do it is to click the 'Next month' or 'Previous month' until you (finally) get to the month in question. This is especially tedious when I want to go to a date in the previous or next year, much less 2 or 3 years before/after.

  7. Detect and strip localized reply prefixes

    When replying to emails, Protonmail and many other clients detect the existing "Re:" prefix in the subject, and don't add a new one to prevent the "Re: Re: Re: ..." mess.

    This is fine in English, but other languages use different prefixes.

    For example, the Finnish localization of Outlook sends its replies with "VS:", but Protonmail doesn't understand that prefix. This causes email threads with people who use Outlook to look like this:

    -> "Original Title"
    <- "Re: Original Title"
    -> "VS: Original Title"
    <- "Re: VS: Original Title"
    -> "VS: VS: Original Title"
    <- "Re: VS: VS: Original Title"…

  8. Could you please work to incorporate task manager features in Proton calendar? This is critical to be able to replace apps like Todoist.

    The current way to enter events is fine, but it's a bit archaic. We also need to be able to add tasks that can be checked off. AI could be used to streamline data entry for both of these processes.

  9. Add a 'Test filter' button when creating mail rules

    When creating a filter, please add a “Test” button. Yandex Mail has this feature and it’s extremely convenient.

    This way I could immediately see, without leaving the filter editor, whether my rule actually matches emails. Yandex shows a list of messages the filter would apply to.

    Right now, many filters don’t work immediately even after saving and checking “apply to existing messages”, so I have to wait and guess whether I configured it correctly. This makes setting up filters slow and frustrating.

  11. Improve efficiency of viewing emails, better utilize dead space

    On the iPad, if i have a lot of unread emails, it's a lot faster to go through them efficiently in Apple Mail than in Proton Mail because of the main screen format. 1: Showing the email list on the left side (with the option to show 2-3 lines of content), and 2: showing the selected email's full content on the right hand side, allows you to quickly see each email, then delete or move on to the next email without ever having to leave the main screen.

  12. Reword the alias tip.

    This is extremely minor.

    The current tip reads
    ```
    When you sign up for a newsletter, use an alias instead of your email address. Your identity stays hidden, and you can disable the alias at any time.
    Aliases cannot be used when an extra password is enabled in Proton Pass.
    ```

    I feel like the last sentence is misleading? It should say something along the lines of "cannot be managed within proton mail when extra password is enabled".
    I can perfectly use aliases when signing up for newsletters with extra password enabled.

  13. A Simple Idea to Stay Organized This Ramadan in Delhi

    One simple idea that can make Ramadan smoother is planning your day around accurate prayer and fasting schedules. In a busy city like Delhi, knowing the exact iftar time Delhi helps you break your fast peacefully, while keeping track of sehri time Delhi ensures you start your fast correctly and without rush.

    Having both timings in one place makes it easier to plan meals, prayers, work, and family time. It removes daily confusion and lets you focus more on spirituality, reflection, and togetherness during the holy month. A small habit like checking timings daily can truly improve your Ramadan experience.

  14. Attached Photo's - files size shrinking option before sending

    With my old Blackberry email client on android- which I still use - I can upload photo's and then it will give to option to shrink the file size to medium or small in order to prevent large photos to be send. This prevents going over the 25Mb file limit per e-mail and also doesn't make your storage capacity fill up unnecessarily quick.

    I really miss this in many e-mail clients. Would save so much work

  15. Show raw, unmodified email source in both web and apps

    Currently Protonmail does not display original, unmodified message headers and source in neither web or native clients.

    Only the web client currently provides just modified "raw" headers, which is unusable for proper debugging and for making forensic copies. The SMTP bridge is even worse, it just shuffles all the headers around.

  16. Reply in message

    Reply in the message
    Currently, ProtonMail systematically requires me to reply separately from the original message.
    I would like to be able to choose to reply in the message so that I can quote the paragraphs to which I am responding.

    At present, when the email contains numerous questions, I am forced to copy and paste or send several emails for each part, which is cumbersome and disruptive.

  17. Allow moving UI elements, like archive and trash, to different columns in the mail view

    I would like the archive and trash icons to be movable so that I could have them between the multi-select box and the subject/message preview. This would make managing my inbox easier, since the message preview column is quite wide and the archive/delete buttons can be hard to see their relative alignment, especially on large monitors using the webapp.

  18. Dedicated Proton Calendar App for MacOS

    Instead of using the proton mail app for calendar, have a dedicated proton calendar app for macOS.

    In the meantime, or if this is not something Proton wants to pursue, I would appreciate a couple of changes to the proton mail app:
    I would like to be able to pick which is the default view when the app is launched to calendar instead of mail.

    I would also like to be able to two finger swipe left or right to be able to scroll back and forth between different weeks or months or days instead of just having the arrow…

  20. Resizable folders panel in Column layout

    On desktop and web, when using Column layout, I can resize the messages list vs. the opened message, but I can’t resize the left folders panel (Inbox, Trash, etc.). Please add an option to resize that panel too.

    For me it’s way too wide, and making it smaller would give more space to the message view, which is more useful.
