  1. Replace ads to bypass anti-ad blocker censorships

You could toggle a switch and instead of fully blocking ads it replaces them with like a “blocked by Proton” 1-5 seconds video, so that he website/app thinks it loaded a ads but in reality it didn’t, to help fight AD BLOCKER censorship

  2. ssh tunnels

Ssh tunnels to allow a public ip and port to inbound to a lan device. Not a full vpn. Limited to a single port.

Some providers block all inbound traffic that is unsolicited, on their network. Both ipv6 and ipv4. This also breaks ipv6. But, instead of using a full wireguard client which is much lighter than the extremely heavy protonvpn client, nevertheless it causes bsod. I would like to be able to simply use something like putty to get an inbound port opened to a local lan device. It does not have to be a fixed port number or…

  4. Dedicated IPs , Rotating IPs , Double VPN Costumized

Dedicated IPs in major countries like the USA, Europe, Japan — something like NordVPN and Surfshark do, where we purchase dedicated IPs and choose the countries. However, it would be nice to include some shared dedicated IPs in the paid plan, with an additional fee option to have your own Proton IP in a country of your choice — Nord and Surfshark offer this.

Double VPN like Surfshark does — you choose both countries, the entry and exit points. It's not meant to eliminate or improve Secure Core, but rather for a customized Double VPN experience.

    Rotating IPs — another…

  5. Proton curated NetShield allowlist for privacy-respecting services

Instead of implementing per-user domain whitelists across all VPN apps, Proton could maintain a curated allowlist of privacy-respecting domains (like www.startpage.com) that are exempt from NetShield ad blocking.

    This could be either:

    enabled by default, or
offered as a single opt-in toggle.

Pros: Simple implementation (DNS-side only), consistent across all platforms, supports privacy-friendly business models.

Cons: Requires Proton to curate and maintain the list and some users may disagree with inclusion criteria or prefer maximum blocking without exceptions.

  8. ability to use the vpn extension or app to indicate if a website has one of proton's ip banned due to other user's abuse

WARNING the core ideea is people who are ABUSING proton vpn. Please be very very carfull because i am talking about people who abuse

You visit a website? it's blocked? why? abuse

well then to click on the extension or app and it will register it.

then, proton will have a records that, Lumo, can have a look around and find who is who without invading the privacy of anyone who is serious.

once found, said person, even if using proton pass, to recive a warning from Lumo, because again, 100% privacy, on said person's main account.

  9. Split-tunneling on MacOS: Allow to include/exclude binaries, not just app bundles.

Currently, split tunneling on macOS is limited to .app bundles, which means command-line tools and system binaries — such as /usr/bin/curl, wget, ssh, or custom scripts — cannot be individually included or excluded from the VPN tunnel.

    Thank you.

  10. WireGuard Stealth Mode API/Proxy Support for Third-Party Clients

    Hello Proton VPN Support Team,

I am a Proton VPN user on Android and I have been using the WireGuard configuration profiles exported from the Proton VPN dashboard with a third-party client (RethinkDNS), which provides per-app firewall and DNS filtering and profiles (e.g. with NextDNS) features alongside VPN functionality.

I have identified a specific issue with mobile network connectivity:

    • When I establish a WireGuard tunnel over Wi-Fi and then switch to a 5G mobile network, the existing session continues without interruption.
    • However, if I attempt to initiate a new WireGuard connection directly over 5G, the handshake fails entirely.

    This behavior…

  11. New country on Proton, Please!

    Hi Proton Team,

I am writing to suggest a new server location for Proton VPN. Since you have recently expanded the network massily to 145 countries—including heavily restricted regions like Turkmenistan—it would be an incredible milestone to add North Korea (Pyongyang) to the list.

I completely understand that placing a physical server inside North Korea is impossible due to geopolitical and security risks. However, this could be successfully implemented using Proton's "Smart Routing" technology, hosting virtual servers in a secure nearby location (like Tokyo or Singapore) while providing a North Korean IP address.

Adding this rare geolocation would showcase Proton's…

  12. Set Default Connection to Specific U.S. State

I only ever want to connect to servers in the state I live in. Currently in order to do so I have to manually find that state in the connections list. Connecting to the fastest server will sometimes connect me to another state, and pinning the state connection still lists it as "United States" which is not descriptive and doesn't distinguish it from other pinned U.S. connections. Linux has the option to set the default connection to specific servers or other options (bust not states). This should be available on all platforms, or at the very least allow for creating…

  14. More protocols

    Hi

Please add more open censorship circumventing protocols..

    Like AmnesiaWG and X-Ray

This is extremely important to bypass hard blocks. And also it will allow to set them up on rare systems (like OpenWRT routers, Raspbian, DD-WRT etc)

  16. Request for an "App-Specific Block Log" feature

Suddenly, my smartphone's temperature rose to 43°C, and ProtonVPN's battery usage reached 38%. Upon checking, I found that while connected to the fastest server, NetShield had blocked 200 trackers in just 30 minutes.
After switching to SecureCore, the number of trackers was cut in half, and the temperature dropped to 24°C.
ProtonVPN used the most power, while Brave Nightly used the most data. This doesn’t tell us who the culprit is.
Just as I turned NetShield off, a "ClearNote consent pop-up" appeared. Although the Google Play Store stated that no data would be shared with third parties and that no…

I would like Proton VPN to protect my iPhone while I use my linux PC to access the internet via the iPhone hotspot feature. The hotspot need not be protected by the VPN, but should be able to work with Proton VPN on my linux PC so that both devices are able to be protected concurrently.

  19. Fastest Server Priority Settings — Primary & Fallback Location Configuration

    Summary
Add a "Fastest Server Priority" setting across all Proton VPN apps (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android) that lets users pin a Primary and a Fallback country to the Fastest Server connection mode — so speed-optimized connections still respect geographic preference.

    Proposed Behavior
When Fastest Server is active, Proton VPN resolves the connection in this order:

    A. Primary — Connect to the fastest available server in the user's preferred country (e.g., Philippines).

    v
    v
    v

    B. Fallback — If the Primary country is fully unavailable due to maintenance or an outage, automatically switch to the Fallback country (e.g., Singapore) without…

  20. Implement Rolling/Tiered Server Maintenance to Avoid Complete Country-Wide Outages

During routine maintenance cycles, I've noticed that all servers within a given country are occasionally taken offline simultaneously — occurring roughly every 2–3 months.

This forces users to reroute through servers in neighboring countries, which often serve different regional content, languages, and geo-restricted services. The result is a noticeably degraded browsing experience that undermines the core value of a VPN.

    Proposed Solution:
Introduce a rolling or tiered maintenance schedule that keeps a minimum percentage of servers online at all times within each country cluster. For example:

    • Tier 1 (Active): A baseline set of servers remains fully operational during any maintenance…
