Smart DNS For Server Middle East Saudi Arabia
Dear Proton Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
First of all, I would like to thank you for providing a reliable and privacy-focused VPN service. I’ve been a happy user of ProtonVPN and greatly appreciate your commitment to privacy and open internet access.
However, I would like to bring to your attention an issue that affects many users in the Middle East, especially those in Saudi Arabia. Currently, popular regional streaming platforms such as Shahid block access when using ProtonVPN, even when connected to a Saudi IP server.
This limitation prevents users from enjoying local content while using…

Show server load before selecting secure core for each country feature, new version had removed this feature
The new version 4.1.13 did not display the server load before selecting. It is slow and troublesome to connect and found that the country server load is high and I have to switch to another country one by one to find out low server load country and this method is very inefficient and resulting proton and users unnecessary servers connecting and disconnecting. Hopefully this pre-display server load feature before secure core connection can be reinstated back into the new version.

Disable pop up ads for promotional sales
I am a paid subscriber of Proton, and I specifically left Google to get away from intrusive ads and data collection. While my experience with Proton has been good, I've received multiple pop ups for promotional sales, from different Proton apps, across my desktop and phone, and sometimes from the same app a few minutes after I've closed one.
The two other ideas that have mentioned these pop ups have been closed as "completed" and can't be voted on. Is this the kind of behaviour I'm to expect from Proton moving on? Because if so, and such promotional material cannot…

Allow Users to Choose VPN Protocols on AppleTV App
Currently there is no way to pick VPN protocols within the AppleTV app, this causes problems when certain networks such as hotels block common VPN protocol traffic like WireGuard and OpenVPN. Stealth mode would be ideal in the circumstance, but currently only the fastest option is supported.

killswitch
Hi,
I am a paying user of the Proton Unlimited pachage and I am very happy with Protons VPN. However, I use an androidbox on my tv and I am missing a killswitch!
Please add this as soon as possible because this is a real deal braker for me and I will probably switch back to Nord VPN if this is not fixed in the near future. I dont get why such an importand setting is not implemented in the android version of your VPN! I read many complaints about this issue on Reddit and people are looking at other,…1 vote -
Button to change ip
Sometimes I just want to change my ip. It's a bit tedious to have to switch between profiles or search for a server manually.
Add a “Change ip” or “Reconnect” button which will change your ip, automatically connecting to another server equivalent to the one you were connected to.
In the latest version of proton for windows the reconnect button does not exist anymore.
It would be really useful in my opinion.

Extend LAN network through VPN
Add a feature that allows a desktop (or a home server) to be used as an endpoint for VPN connection, allowing the user to use the internet like they are in its local network. Useful to connect to LAN devices safely without exposing them to the Web and for limited services like Netflix that blocks users from other places to connect to the same account.

Give us the ablility to exclude specific servers.
Youtube has been blocking based on IP. Once that happens, I wouldn't mind excluding those servers.

Proton VPN on UmbrelOS
It would be great, if users of the Umbrel Home Server or those, who use UmbrelOS, could connect to the Internet with the privacy of the Proton VPN.
UmbrelOS version<1.0 allowed to install the Proton VPN on the underlaying Linux OS, but for UmbrelOS version>1.0 this ability has gone.1 vote -
ProtonVPN Docker App
It would be amazing to have ProtonVPN natively support Docker.
There is a github project that had limited support for this, but seems to be broken now that the logicals API (https://api.protonvpn.ch/vpn/logicals) is depreciated.
A full featured Docker app would be very much appreciated

App for Titan OS
When I had an android TV I used Proton VPN frequently. Since I have switched to Titan OS this is one of the things I miss.
OS Website: titanos.tv
Runs on my latest Philps TV. It is a European operating system. There is currently no VPN app available as far as I know on Titan OS. I don't know if it is possible to build within their SDK; but if it is it could be a good opportunity for Proton to get in there first.

Please add Iranian servers to the app and I promise that your downloads will double.
hello Please add Iranian servers to the app and I promise that your downloads will double.Iranians who live outside Iran, which are many and there are about 10 million people, have to access Iranian IP for their banking work in Iran, and only cyberghost vpn provides Iranian servers and all Iranians abroad They have to buy this vpn from Iran. Please set up servers in Iran so that we can use your vpn.
To build an Iranian server, please build it yourself in Iran because there is a lot of surveillance on Iranian data centers.1 vote -
Use RPKI to protect Proton VPN customers from BGP hijacking
In 2020, Proton was the victim of BGP hijacking. In a blog post about the incident, Proton said it was securing its own BGP route announcements using RPKI. However, Proton VPN's ISP (M247, AS9009) does not use RPKI to verify other sites' announcements. This can be seen by going to the Is BGP Safe Yet website Proton linked to in its own blog post. Proton should use RPKI to verify the routes to sites its customers visit so the customers are protected from BGP hijacking of the sites they visit.

Auto shutdown when phone put in airplane mode
I would love for the VPN to automatically stop trying to connect when I place my phone in airplane mode and also have it auto connect when I take my phone out of airplane mode.
While in airplane mode (with no WiFi services, such as on a flight) the application keeps attempting to connect to a server. This significantly drains my battery, unless I remember to manually disconnect it after toggling airplane mode on.

Search for VPN server
I'd like the ability to quickly type and search for VPN servers/countries, on both iOS and Mac. Surfshark does this and it's such a friendly way to quickly switch to different countries based on my needs. on protonvpn, I have to scroll and search for the flag/abbreviation of the country, which is not a great UX

Ability to see current load of selected servers - web interface or API
I use the router config exclusively.
Need a quick way other than visiting the web dashboard and drilling down to find current load of any given server... it's cumbersome to visit the web page, click through the menu, scroll down to country, expand the list, then open browser search to find the server you're looking for.
An API would be awesome. With an API in place, clients could be built for various platforms (windows, mac, ios, browser extension, etc.)
Then when server loads goes nuts I can quickly switch (via my router app) to another server I have already configured.
