  1. Qnap and synology NAS support

An app for Qnap (and Synology?) NAS would be really helpful it is impossible to use Qnap's vpn manager on third party app so using it as a client through OpenVPN is useless in a lot of situations... As of now no VPN provider has an app for it even on unofficial repo.

  2. [Feature Request] Connect on Boot

Hello, I would like to suggest adding a <Connect on Boot> function to ProtonVPN Desktop App.

But first, let me give a drill-down on what is Connect on Boot.

    🔺What is Connect on Boot?🔺
    A. This allows the VPN app to load and connect before the user successfully login on the Computer Login Screen.

    B. This is completely different from Connect on Login which requires the user successfully logged in to the computer and for the VPN app to successfully load on the program startup queue before it starts connecting.

    C. Connect on Boot is the perfect companion for users…

Setting to have the VPN client auto disconnect from VPN Server if load goes above 90%-95% and auto connect to the lowest load server near you.

  4. When will you make Wireguard VPN available?

When would you please make Wireguard available?

There are many providers out there already supporting it - at least 10 reputable ones.
Wireguard is faster than Openvpn and despite being a relatively new protocol I would appreciate it if you allow connections on beta servers.

I'm using OpenVpn transparently via dedicated router and gaining speed without paying for extra hardware can only be a reasonable ask and a step forward.

I am a paying customer and I think it will be wasteful to pocket an additional subscription in order to use Wireguard with other providers as I am already with…

  5. ProtonVPN: better support for arm linux (Raspberry Pi, PinePhone, etc)

ProtonVPN gui and cli can be installed on various operating systems running on different arm devices. It seems that Debian-based OSes like Raspberry Pi OS and Mobian cannot properly use either tool. The connection fails and ultimately you are unable to access the internet. In order to correct this you need to run:

    sudo nmcli connection delete pvpn-ipv6leak-protection

    as suggested here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1319033/internet-stops-working-after-installing-protonvpn.

It would be nice to see more devices/oses supported. Until then when the connection fails at least it should clear any connection leftovers automatically.

  6. Bind the Kill Switch to specific programs

Bind the Kill Switch setting to specific programs. For instance: Application "X" will terminate if VPN connection drops, even when switching servers.

  8. Dedicated IP Address tied to Secure Core

I would really love to have the ability to purchase a dedicated IP Address within ProtonVPN. This would eliminate blocking by some financial institutions and steaming services who block known multi-user ip addresses.

If the possibility exist to link the dedicated ip address (in the United States) to the secure core function would be outstanding.

A reasonable monthly charge (in addition to the regular monthly subscription fee) would be well worth the additional feature.

  9. Folder selection for Split Tunneling

Easily exclude all sub-executables of a service by selecting a whole folder instead of having to manually select every file by hand.

As an example, Steam needs much more than just the main executable and the game's executable to work properly with Split Tunneling.

  10. Add split-tunneling to Profiles

Add split-tunneling as a customizable option for a Profile. This way if someone frequently uses split-tunneling for various applications, they do not have to go into the settings menu and make the app selections every time.

  11. Allow adding multiple users to an VPN account

Please make an option to add other users on the same network for the VPN service.

My family wants to use VPN at home but I don't want give each person my username and password to log into the ProtonVPN software. I'd rather have a simple family option where you can assign permission to an extra person or two to the same account, at least per network.

Hell, I'd even pay a teensy bit extra too for that feature as I think it's a perfectly reasonable request.

  12. Low carbon switch

Similar to the Secure Core switch, a Low carbon switch that would allow to filter VPN servers to restrict the selection to countries where power generation is less carbon-intensive. The list of countries could be either derived of yearly averaged, or refreshed real-time based on e.g. electricitymap data.

  13. Porn/adult sites blocker for NetShield

Warp (CloudFlare) has a feature for their equivalent of NetShield that also blocks porn/adult sites from the DNS, in addition to options for malware and ads. Consider adding this for a family-friendly setting?

  16. Latency display

When you click on a country, the list of servers for that country appears. The only thing missing is the latency you are getting from that server. For example, I click Estonia, I see all the Estonian servers. Right next to each Estonian server, there would be a number telling you what ping you're getting, like 150ms. I think this feature would be a useful one to add because choosing a faster connection would be easier if you could see the latency. Also, with this ping, for the box that shows your internet speed over a time period of 60…

  17. ProtonVPN: wider availability of split tunneling

Surprisingly, ProtonVPN has been probably my favorite Proton Technologies product since joining the service, initially for email. Split tunneling is great because some websites don't like it when you try to access them with a VPN. I wish it was available on other platforms besides PC, though. Mac and iOS at the very least would be very helpful for me.

  18. Show current connected profile label in the GUI

When connected to a profile, the Windows GUI shows:

    Country >> Server
    IP Load
    Protocol Speeds

It would be nice to see current profile name there as well. And also the profile may be highlighted in the list to indicate that it is currently connected. Without this feature it is hard to tell at a glance which profile is being used at the moment. So the user either has to memorize all the servers, or always reconnect to the needed profile to ensure it is being used.

  19. iOS 14 Home Screen Widget

It would be great to be able to add a Widget to the home screen on iOS that includes:
    - connection status (as an easily visible background color would be great)
    - quick-connect buttons if disconnected (to profiles and/or recently connected servers)
    - a disconnect toggle (can it include a confirm notification?)
