Proton Photos
basically Google photos, but better because it's encrypted.
As in, a mobile app for backing up and organizing phone photos.
Maybe we could pay a monthly fee for access to Photos, Drive, and VPN service. I'd much rather support an independent company than Google

Ability to edit a document (text, SPREADSHEET & PRESENTATION) with a non-proton user
I was very happy to hear about the document editing feature, it's the killer feature I've been waiting for to switch to ProtonDrive and abandon Kdrive !
But two disappointments :
- firstly, there's only a text document editing function and no spreadsheet (excel) or presentation (PowerPoint). I imagine this will come later, but why not rely directly on Onlyoffice?
- Secondly, it's not possible to use the document editing function with a user who doesn't use protondrive ! This drastically reduces the number of use cases, which is a shame...
Until at least these two functions are in place,…22 votes -

Move or Copy Shared Files/Folders to "My Files" without Download and Upload.
In Drive Web or Desktop App, Files and Folders which have been shared to one Person (Shared with me Tab), should be able to be copied or moved to "My Files" Tab without the neccessity to download and reupload to/from a local Computer.

Open files outside Proton Drive in Android
Many file formats are not supported by Proton Drive, like ods, docx, etc.
Currently, the only way to open them is by downloading them first.
There should be a way to open those files directly in an external app.8 votes -

Offline access in Linux Proton Desktop app
I was very pleased to see the release of the Proton desktop app for Linux. This feature may be coming along with the full release, but it would be excellent to have offline access to my mail and calendar through the app.

photo desktop
Hello!
These features are VERY essential for a minimum usefulness of the app...
- Photo folder (so far only available on web view - why???) should be synced with the desktop versions on a "Photo" folder
- We must be able to move the photos to Drive folders
- Syncing of the backed up photos in a folder-to-folder system, where a folder named as the original source is created inside the "Photo" folder
- Like many other ideas posted here: albuns organization, filters by date / creation / etc.
Thanks!

Proton Integrating existing FOSS Software (LibreOffice and others)
Proton has started making Proton Docs and that ecosystem which is great but the FOSS world already has the likes of LibreOffice and others. Integrating them into Proton would show Proton cares about FOSS but also gives Proton Users the option to use other open-source software right into Proton's Web UI.
Adding the option to open docs files in a web LibreOffice Editor would be amazing. I think Proton can and should build their own Docs and etc ecosystem but they should also integrate others that are FOSS, ethical and privacy minded.7 votes -
Show files shared with me in Proton Drive apps
When I open the Proton Drive app on iPhone or Macbook, I can't see files that another person has shared with me in Proton Drive.
I can only see them if I log in using a web browser.

Partner with OnlyOffice or LibreOffice to completely replace Google Ecosystem
Instead of making Proton Docs, Slides, etc. which take forever to make, just partner with a privacy based office suite like OnlyOffice to make everything easier.

Proton Docs "Outline" Sidebar derived from Heading usage, like Google Docs
This is a killer feature of Google Docs - the ability to use the autogenerated Outline sidebar to jump around the sections of a doc, whether it's a design doc, a log of meeting notes by date, etc. etc.

File Search
Filename based Search functionality within Proton Drive...
I don't necessarily mean searching for File-Content, this is difficult to achieve in a fully encrypted setting (albeit not impossible, if the indexing tool would run local or in a sand-boxed mode and the actual index database would be stored as a file on the actual encrypted proton drive account.... )
But rather just a search for file name (even partial names etc...)

Option to automatically delete items from the trash after a certain amount of time
I wish I could set a specific time period (say, 30 days or more) for items in the trash to be automatically removed to preserve storage space.
Emptying the trash manually is cumbersome, especially if you only want to keep recently deleted files available for recovery.
