Shared folders linked to Proton account (not just public links)
Privacy and security are at the core of Proton's mission. Sharing folders through Proton Drive should be no different. A public URL for sharing stops short of privacy and security. A model that upholds privacy and security would be an invite model. Invite a specific person to the folder, if they do not have a Proton account, they can create one. They use this login to access files in the shared folder.
A public URL has zero traceability to who is accessing the data. An invitation to a specific person would allow for traceability of the files in the folder being shared by the Proton Drive customer.
An additional option to select members of an organization in a Business/Professional or Visionary Plan to share a Proton Drive folder with is also in alignment with specific people having access to specific things in the name of privacy and security.

Instead of having to share folders via links it would be great to get the option to permanently share a folder with (an)other Proton user(s), just like sharing a calendar.
A similar feature has already been proposed for Proton Family accounts but this should basically be an option for all Proton accounts, no matter what plan one is on.

I agree, this would be very important.
Although I think a best option would be to have possibilities for both. To either share for a specific Proton user or set of Proton users, or alternatively to create a public shared link (with both current options, password protected or no password).
I too subscribed to a family plan and was somewhat surprised to see this is not a current feature. Encryption probably makes this a bit difficult to implement, but I guess it might be possible at least if the share to users option is set before encryption/upload starts.

I cannot agree more. This a big big big lack in current Proton offer. I subscribed to a family plan thinking that this feature would be available. I am really disappointed it is not the case!

Hello. I use Notion but don't want to upload my documents inside notion. I want only to create a link to my folders or files and paste it under Notion only for myself, so everytime I click on that link Proton Drive opens and shows me my folder or my file.
More Secure file sharing is when you share a file or a folder by a link only for a Proton member to a valid Proton-Email-Address !!!

When sharing access to a file or folder, access is given through an URL to "pretty much anyone gets the URL".
Could we perhaps have a more secure procedure for sharing access to files "restricted to known (identified, specific) Proton users"
