Proton Drive Integration with Android Default Storage
I haven't yet found a way to set Proton Drive as a default storage location on Android within the "My Files" functionality which drives selectable save options for most file save actions. Obviously, Google Drive is available along with MS OneDrive, internal storage, SD storage and network storage. Having Proton Drive set here would make file management much easier on Android mobile.

At this rate just consider making an Obsidian plugin as well :) But I would love to use this for other apps as well, but mainly Obsidian.

I don't get why this works for DCIM but not for anything else... Same as the others, Obsidian backup

Or something like a temporary folder, where the chosen file (e.g. a Word Document) is temporarily decrypted and downloaded until I have finished editing it in the Android Word app. After that, my Word Document will be uploaded back to Proton Drive, overwrite the previous file version and completely delete the file from the local temporary folder.

Real hard to "deGoogle" my life when a simple integration with local storage to auto backup my 2fas has to be done with google drive because proton doesn't allow it

Would want this to be able to use Keepass2Android and Obsidian

This would be great. Many of my apps (Signal, etc.) make local backups, and it would be great to have an option to have these automatically uploaded to Proton Drive. Bonus point for being able to schedule a time of day this local folder sync would run.

I need to back up my chat history in messengers like Signal and Threema, which requires sync local backup with some cloud solution like Proton Drive on daily/weekly basic.

I currently have my Obsidian vaults in Google Drive for use across Android, Mac and Linux. I want to switch to Proton Drive, but this is one of the main things holding me back from signing up to Proton Ultimate.

This is really a very fundamental feature and needed for linux and android. Mega is providing such feature since a few weeks. Please, proton hurry up and ship such feature as well. Thank you.

Currently moving all of my setup to Proton Drive, and this is the last thing I need to match my previous setup. Without this, my only option is to subscribe to Obsidian, which could be bad as then both Obsidian and Proton would be syncing my files. Plus, it's €4 a month on top of my existing proton subscription. I don't care about the privacy concern, let me expose certain files to the file system on android!

Would that make Obsidian sync work with drive?

I am agree I can't believe there's so few software doing that. Please add to proton drive

A sync client for Windows would be my personal priority, but Android is a start. Basically a replacement for Google Drive, which I'm still using as the sync feature is missing from Proton

This feature is absolutely critical for Proton Drive to be able to replace any other cloud storage provider.
Even more critical than a desktop sync client for Linux.

allow proton drive to integrate with android systems on phones so it shows up as an option to pull files from for other apps such as photo editing apps, as it currently does no do so, only the phone native option shows up

First truly e2e encrypted service that offers this gets my money for the next decade at least.

Without this capability, it is impossible to use Proton Drive to synchronize my music, my Obsidian vault, any documents, or really anything I need to be able to access with other apps (which is, y'know, basically everything!).
I want to be able to use Proton Drive as my generalised cloud service, but right now it is effectively just a photo backup tool, at least where my phone is concerned.

Highly crucial! Was about to subscribe to the proton ecosystem until I ran into this issue. Holding off on that until I can sync my obsidian vault across my windows and android devices.

Yes. I have several apps that run scheduled local backups and I'd like to back the up automatically with Drive
