Change app language
You have recently implemented new languages, the problem is that it is set automatically according to the system language. You cannot change it either within the app or within the settings app in the language for apps section

MacOS 15.0 dev beta - drive broken
Heads up to dev team. Uninstalled the drive, authenticated normally. Connection to drive is broken. Error message: "Proton Drive encountered an unexpected error". Mail, Calendar, Pass and VPN are all okay.

Option for synced photos to maintain original folder structure
A setting for mirroring the original storage file/folder structure when photos are backed-up would make searching, managing and retrieving files less daunting.

Select over range through months inside of photos
Select SHIFT doesn't seem to work when doing it over months. It works normally when doing it over individual photos, even across months.

Don't default move deleted files to Trash, and make this configurable and more transparent.
I only found out by accident that deleted files end up in an online-only Trash folder instead of being deleted. From a privacy and security centric company I find this quite shocking.
I would expect at the very last for this to be:
a) Opt-in, preferably with flexible retention.
b) Much, much more explicit, and definitely not entirely obscured by the app and only discoverable via the web interface.I don't want to have to remember that files I deleted are still stored at online at Proton, and having to go to the web to ensure they're really gone.

Delete local copy of files when logging out
I would like it if when i log the protondrive app out (from the pc itself or remotely) to have it delete the local files of protondrive aswell.
When i have used protondrive for a bit on a computer, after that i have to logout and then manually delete the folder to make sure no-one has access to my files afterwards.
This is a feature that should atleast have exsisted if you remote logout the app from the browser (like dropbox has incase the device is lost / stolen)

Option to Overwrite Older Files
You have the option to overwrite existing files, but it BADLY needs an option to overwrite only older files, so I can backup entire large folder structures, yet only actually transfer new and changed files. This would slash the amount of time and bandwidth used on both our ends. When I've got newer files sprinkled all through my folders it's not practical to just selectively copy them and choose overwrite.

Option to remove Windows Explorer integration
The windows Explorer integration for Proton is pretty good overall - but still, I prefer to have my drive apps be as unobtrusive as possible.
Is there any chance there can be a toggle in the settings of the Proton Drive desktop app to remove Explorer integration?

Multiple recycling bins for different synced devices
When syncing a folder on a PC for example, based on the type of folder that is synced, many little files might get deleted and move to the recycling bin regularly, where every other deleted file needs to be searched in the flood if you wanted to recover it.
If there were different recycle bins, like one for the main drive, one for device 1, one for device 2..., files that you want to recover would be easier to find, as they are already sorted in a simple way.

Scroll
It would be great if there was a scroll button that allows us to quickly scroll through our drive like Google has. My family moved to proton for more space and this feature would make it way worth it.
As well, the images have a hard time loading in the main screen. You have to click an image and let it load before it shows. Videos are worse.

Increase Proton paid plans' storage for free
"Proton Mail Plus" plan's storage space isn't value for money.
Mail Plus: 15 GB storage, 48 EUR per year.
Google Drive Free: 15GB, 0 EUR per year.
Microsoft 365 Basic: 100GB storage, 20 EUR per year.
Same goes for Proton Unlimited which is too expensive for 500GB space while other cloud providers offer double storage at half the price.I appreciate that Proton offers privacy, security and many Mail features. However the storage space it currently offers is unbearably low for the long-term.

Show total size of folders (both online and in app)
Calculate and display the total size of a folder and all files within, both online and in the sync app.
Currently you can only see the size of the folder if you downloaded all folder contents to your device. Otherwise it reports the system folder size of 0kb.

Show previews for RAW image files
As a Photographer, its so important to be able to see previews of my RAW files in my cloud backup, it's currently impossible to find the photos I need easily, which makes it really hard for me to justify moving away from Google Drive, which I'm keen to do.

Support folder picking on iOS
When using another app like Logseq or Obsidian, you cannot use ProtonDrive because the ProtonDrive iOS app does not implement NSExtensionFileProviderSupportsPickingFolders.

Improve sync - team up NextCloud etc..
I am a paid user and it is so hard to backup on proton, there is no reason why proton has not upgraded their drive. i should be able to do everything that Next-cloud offers and more. My phone and any of my multiple linux distribution PC should be able to sync..... I SAID SYNC(not upload), with my devices running any software. also Proton needs to huge upgrade on security due the fact that my drive was hacked or the upload failed but i swear i have uploaded it multiple times and it took days to finish about 56gb and…

Replace files in the 'sync queue' with the newer states
While working on a file, when you save it, proton drive immediately syncs it, locking any future changes from the file. If you want to save the file (locally) again, you have to wait until the its previous save state is uploaded. I think this could be fixed by replacing files in the 'sync queue' with the newer states in the case that the file is updated.

Scroll through photos on iOS
I noticed that when using Proton Drive with the iOS app, you only have to open one photo at a time to view images. It would be very useful if, once the first photo has been opened, it was possible to view the others by scrolling through them as happens in the web version.

Add exclusions for trash folders
Please add an ability to exclude certain folders from having deleted files landing in trash. We should be able to mark certain folders as excluded, where if they're deleted, they're deleted for good.

I am wanting to know what Proton's plans are if the EU goes through with plans to make Proton scan files before encrypting them.
I use Proton because of the strong privacy laws in the countries where Proton has servers. I know that the first step the EU is discussing is making Proton scan files before saving them for child pornography. But we all know once they have that they will have you scanning files for anything they find objectionable. Will Proton move its servers to a secure country if that law passes?
