ProtonDrive Screenshot instant sharing feature (Like dropbox has now)
I think everyone who is using or have been used Dropbox for files sharing on macOS was happy and find it so useful and time saving feature - instant screenshot sharing option. For those who doesn't know I explain how it should work.
You make screenshot on the macOS (SHIFT+CMD+4) and your screenshot is instantly uploaded to ProtonDrive and the URL link copied to clipboard.
Asking for macOS Client firstly, but if possible to make it for Linux and Windows as well, why not to include it in the roadmap?

Proton Drive Password Protection
For the past few months, I have been using the Proton Drive. It's a great resource, but I'm always active on my email and wait to log out. My concern is that I have sensitive documents in my Drive, and I would like to have the option to set passwords to folders, or when accessing DRIVE, the system will ask me for the password to edit and move or delete any document. proton drive backup app for windows
I would like an app for Windows to do only backup, not sync, of my local folders on Proton Drive, like the Amazon Photos app. I don't want that, in case the files are removed from the cloud, they're also removed from my local pc.

Copy document from website to proton drive directly.
Instead of transferring from this computer ("uploading") to Proton Drive, how about transferring from another computer to Proton Drive?
That is, allow providing a URL to a document so it can be transferred from some other computer to Proton Drive.
I have a personal website and would like to transfer a copy of a couple files without "downloading" them first. Less transferring (less network traffic) that way. Ideally, the transfer request would not come from my computer, but instead from the Proton Drive server (or whatever other computer you all want to use that is in your control for security).

Being able to identify and delete the largest files
With Google, there is a page that will help you to understand what service (Drive, Mail, Photos, et cetera) are consuming what % (or amount of GB) of the total diskspace available in your plan.
As second step it would be very useful to be able to filter on file-sizes over all sources (Mail, Drive, Photo) and being able to delete the selected files to free up space efficiently and have regular housekeeping.

File Symbolic Linking
One of my uses of ProtonDrive is to archive documents. For these, I wish to be able to archive them in multiple places; the same document has relevance to both the new house I purchased as well as to taxes. As such, i would like to have a link to the file appear in both of these places.
Currently, to support this I must upload the file twice into the two locations, potentially requiring me to download the file prior to re-uploading it.8 votes -
Proton Drive Integration with Android Default Storage
I haven't yet found a way to set Proton Drive as a default storage location on Android within the "My Files" functionality which drives selectable save options for most file save actions. Obviously, Google Drive is available along with MS OneDrive, internal storage, SD storage and network storage. Having Proton Drive set here would make file management much easier on Android mobile.

Upload from a hyperlink
Ideally we would have remote upload but then I guess that's not possible due to E2EE. So, instead give a web UI feature, where instead of having to manually download and then upload, the Web UI itself downloads the file onto storage and encrypts and uploads it.

Windows client on mutli-account PC
I am using two different user accounts on my PC (one for work, one for private purposes).
I want to access and sync my private Proton Drive folder while using my work profile. OneDrive supports this, I just create a folder, e.g., c:\OneDrive and enable sync on both user accounts. If I do the same with Proton Drive, it tells me that's not possible because the folder has to be empty to initialize the sync process.
Right now, I would need two separate folders with the same content, wasting disk space and bandwidth because all files would be synced twice.

Web PDF Viewer Improvements
Here are possible improvements to the pdf viewer (web):
- Remove encryption
- Convert to PDF/A
- Convert to Linearized PDFI think the first one is the most useful for people. And once this is implemented, the other two could be easy to implement (given the toolchain required for the the first one).

Crucial information on reinstalltion is not documented, seriuosly impacting on what is cloud stored. Default setting not appropriate
New features:
* Relevant documentation
* The removal process in the app should NOT have the default set to "Remove Proton Drive settings and previously remembered credentials"
* Removal of a named folder from the list of folders that set to be synced is too simple.I could not find any documentation on this, only found out by multiple tests.
If your plan is to reinstall the Proton Drive app and expect to return to syncing as before with all previous versions intact - Be careful.

Shared folders linked to Proton account (not just public links)
Privacy and security are at the core of Proton's mission. Sharing folders through Proton Drive should be no different. A public URL for sharing stops short of privacy and security. A model that upholds privacy and security would be an invite model. Invite a specific person to the folder, if they do not have a Proton account, they can create one. They use this login to access files in the shared folder.
A public URL has zero traceability to who is accessing the data. An invitation to a specific person would allow for traceability of the files in the folder…

Share upload folder link
Share folders with the option to allow upload of files. This is an essencial feature to allow secure file transfer. Bonus points if notifications for uploaded files are present from day1.
This is especially important for companies, where receiving large files is sometimes troublesome.
Myself and my family currently use a (payed) competitor that provides this feature, and I can assure you I will not be adopting proton drive unless an equivalent feature is available.

Auto-Lock After 'x' Number Of Minutes Of Inactivity (E.g. Logout If Idle For 10 Minutes)
I'd really like the ability to set the web app(s) -- e.g. drive.proton.me, mail.proton.me, etc., etc. -- to automatically lock if idle for 'x' number of minutes, such as after 2, 5, or 10 minutes of inactivity. Currently, the only other option is to uncheck the "stay logged in" at login, and even then it only logs you out if you've closed the browser (some people keep the web browser open indefinitely).

Sort Items By Type (E.g. Folders First, Then Files, Etc.)
Please add support to sort files/folders by type, such as being able to show folders first, then files below it -- when viewing items in Proton Drive.

Proton Drive API
It would be amazing to have an API (like https://developers.google.com/drive/api/v3/about-sdk) to be able to make scripts that could automate uploading important files to ProtonDrive using a language like Python or similar.

Family sharing
Add the ability to have a family plan for Drive like what Google Drive has. I currently have a family plan with Google drive and would like the ability to do that with Proton Drive which will allow me to finally break away from google completely.
