How can we improve Proton Drive?

  1. progress bar with eta based on average upload speed (for large uploads)

    when uploading a large file, a progress bar with eta for when the upload will complete would help in figuring out how long the coffee break should be while waiting for the upload...

  2. Add Linked S3 Compatible External Storage to Proton Drive

    Proton Drive Business -
    Add a feature to sync via key to external S3 compatible storage drive (Wasabi etc...)

    Would allow for syncing devices to ProtonDrive but offloading storage / cold storage for things that need to be replicated.

  4. disable download for PDF

    It would be great if there is a way to disable download for pdf in Proton Drive.

    Dropbox business has a feature where you can disable downloading for pdfs when you create a secure link.

    Créer un espace drive propre à l'organisation enregistrée sous Pro ou Visionary ou disposer d'un espace drive partagé entre les utilisateurs regroupés dans une même organisation en mode visionary. Développer le même principe pour les calendriers.

  7. Naviguer dans ProtonDrive avec une arborescence classique pour pouvoir déplacer et gérer facilement l'emplacement des documents et dossiers

    J'aimerais pouvoir naviguer dans ProtonDrive de la même manière que l'on navigue dans windows, à l'aide d'une arborescence qui permet de visualiser précisément l'emplacement d'un dossier ou d'un document. Actuellement c'est beaucoup trop long de rechercher et remonter à l'emplacement des dossiers

  8. Suggestion Button and Direct Link to Proton Drive feedback page

    Being a Beta Product, Proton Drive should have a clear 'Suggestion' button next to the 'Help' button, to encourage feedback.

    Furthermore, on ProtonDrive the current 'Request a feature' button under the 'Help' menu links to the default Protonmail feedback page. Thus a user could easily make the mistake of providing their feedback meant for Proton Drive, but placing it under the ProtonMail category.

  10. I'd like to be able to move files in protondrive folders

    Hello,
    I know it's the beta on protondrive but it would be nice to be able to move files to gather them even if they don't have the same type or name. (Now we only can sort them by name or type).

  11. Will you be adding an added secure cloud drive to each email account or a separate cloud drive feature?

    Will you be adding a secure cloud drive? I use Google Drive for a lot of important files I don't want to lose and it's easy to share and organize for every device. PLEASE tell me you're going to have one so I can transfer everything to I feel a more secure encrypted location like this. I AM HAPPY TO PAY FOR IT. I already pay for it with Google Drive to have a very large drive

  13. add an option to create a txt file under the Drive section

    I would like to create a txt file while I'm in drive instead of having to create it in notepad and then upload it to protondrive. This would be really helpful because I have lots of notes that I could keep here and it would be really convenient to be able to create these notes inside of drive. I currently use NOTES in outlook and I'm trying to convert over to protondrive.

  16. Use unix 'file' to determine if uploaded file is in for example text format so it can be viewed in the web gui

    Upload a Dockerfile, then try to view it. It is a plain text file, but it doesn't display, probably because some kind of file extension list is used for the previewing page rather than something like 'file' in Unix which can say if it is an image or a text file or a json file etc.

    It would be nice if files in ProtonDrive were automatically displayed, not a generic icon with a file name. For example, a .jpeg file would be displayed as the actual picture.

  18. ProtonDrive - Enable Sharing at the Folder Level

    For me this is a pretty fundamental feature. Instead of only being able to share at the file level it has to also be at the folder level and this share should cascade through files and sub-folders in the shared folder.
    My use case is that we share folders with collaborators and service providers (accountant for example). Having to individually share a file is not a viable strategy, particularly when there are many files.
    Currently I can see no way of sharing at the folder level.

    With the release of Apple Silicon and the new OS Big Sur, a desktop mail app with proton drive support is needed. All in native M1 RISC code.
