1. pure Video Links without Download option

I'd like to share my videos without making them downloadable. The download button should be optional.

When the shared link is clicked, the video should start playing directly in full screen.

Inexperienced users, and especially older users, won't realize they need to tap the (gray) button.

It should be as simple as possible.

2. Proton Docs: Convert Case

I would like a feature to change the case of selected text. For example, change "I have a dog named Bruno" to:

   • all caps ("I HAVE A DOG NAMED BRUNO")
   • all lower case ("i have a dog named bruno")
   • title case ("I Have a Dog Named Bruno")

3. Proton Photos ios local download

At the moment, on iPhone or iPad with Proton Drive Photos, you can only select individual pictures and make them available to other photo apps locally on the device by using the share function and “Save Image.” However, if you currently select more than one picture, this function is no longer available. It would be very helpful to have the option in the future to save multiple pictures or entire albums locally.

4. Proton Drive meets Git

HiDrive allows turning folders into Git repositories, which is very helpful. It would be great to see a similar feature in Proton Drive — the ability to initialise Git repositories inside folders, with basic access via HTTPS/SSH. This would make Proton Drive even more useful for developers and advanced users.

5. Ability to set a network data speed cap

Would be extremely useful to have a network cap when downloading / uploading in Proton Drive. I run the risk of not being able to do any tasks that requires network in the background while Drive is working as it hogs all the data for itself.

6. Would be nice to not have every tool pop out into a new tab.

Please add the option to not pop out application into new tabs. Would be nice to have a home screen where you can switch through all application within one browser tab. For instance, make mail the home screen and have the other apps located on the side bar, then all you have to do is switch between the applications.

10. Allow realtime updating of an open file via Proton Drive.

I would REALLY love to replace Microsoft OneDrive with Proton Drive. The one thing that's preventing me from doing that, though, is as a writer, OneDrive's ability to save/backup a Word document while I have it open and am working on it is crucial. If you could figure out a way for Proton Drive to do this, I'd be all over it.

11. # 0102 Dynamic “Topic Map” collections. Virtual “Topic Map” collections that aggregate tagged items

    Hi Proton team,

I’d like to propose a single feature that would improve Proton Drive:

Idea: Introduce dynamic virtual collections (called “Topic Maps”) that automatically gather all files/folders sharing a given tag, regardless of their physical location.

    Why it matters:

    • Users can view all assets related to a project or theme in one place without reorganising folders.
    • Teams can quickly audit completeness of a deliverable set (e.g., “all assets tagged ‘Game‑Launch‑Q3’”).
    • Mirrors the “smart playlist” concept many users already know from music apps.

    Suggested implementation (high‑level):

    • When a tag is created, generate a virtual folder view that pulls in every item with that tag.
    • Display the virtual collection in a new “Topics” pane on the left side of the Drive UI.
    • Ensure the collection respects the most restrictive sharing permissions of its members (or allow an explicit override).
    • Take into account later Topic Map extensions like Occurrences and Associations

Thank you for reviewing this suggestion. I can help prototype the UI if needed.

    Best,
    Mat Huppertz

    (Part of a series of related suggestions – see #0101, #0102, #0103, #0104, #0105, #0106, #0107)

12. Show full thumbnail in Photos preview

The photo album view is nice. It would be even nicer if it was possible to show landscape as landscape and portrait as portrait instead of having everything in portrait (cutting edges off landscape photos). With this setting the landscape photos would be equally tall as portrait photos but wider than portraits. There will probably be some white space left on the right with this view, but I think it would look nicer. Maybe have an option to show smaller thumbnails as well.

13. Bring back functionality with Mail

Until recently, Drive worked with Mail in the Proton ecosystem. Now, to add an attachment to iOS Mail, one needs to first transfer a file from Drive to iCloud to be able to attach it. This breaks the entire functionality between the two apps in the same ecosystem. Please bring back the ability to attach documents from Drive to Mail.

15. Support .tiff (Tagged Image File Format) preview in Photos

Currently there is no support for .tiff files in Proton Drive photos, adding a support for that seems important because it is very popular amongst graphic artists, the publishing industry, and photographers.

16. Enable 'rclone' to give you access to the Proton Drive as part of the Mac file system, or produce a Terminal app yourselves.

I've used the command-line program 'rclone' to show my Proton Drive as part of my Mac file system, so I can backup files from a Terminal. It's dead slow, but it worked. Then, two days ago, I ran
    rclone mount proton: ~/ProtonDrive \

    --tpslimit 0.3 \
    --transfers 1 \
    --checkers 1 \
    --low-level-retries 1 \
    --timeout 10s \
    --daemon --protondrive-replace-existing-draft=true

I went to that URL and filled in the form. No response, and it still doesn't work, 48 hours later. There is no abusive traffic on my network. I'm using Proton VPN.

17. Sheets: Duplicate value feature rather than needing Custom Formulas to highlight via Conditional Formatting

Instead of using Conditional Formatting and setting up a custom formula to highlight duplicate formulas, I'd love to see a button like Excel has for highlighting duplicate values in a Sheet.

20. Comprehensive file changes list in Drive

I'm looking to switch from Dropbox to Proton Drive, and was looking into the file versioning featureset. I'm looking for an option to display a master comprehensive list of all file uploads to drive so that I can audit file additions/deletions/changes on the scale of my entire drive. Dropbox specifically has <dropbox.com/events> that displays this comprehensive list of drive changes.
