  1. Please add a “Select All” and “Select None” toggle for Calendar items.

I have one calendar item “Appointments” which gets crowded out by the many other items present making it very awkward to view and find only appointments easily. If we could Select None and then choose one (in my case “Appointments”) the Calendar immediately becomes much more powerful and useful. I already have 10 different Calendar items on my Calendar and can imagine there may eventually be 10 more. It is prohibitively cumbersome to uncheck all but one just to view that one. It is also cumbersome to recheck All of the Calendar items, thus the need for a “Select All”…

  2. Calendar analytics

I'm a consultant and need to see how many hours I spend on which client and/or project.

For now, I use Google Calendar and TimeNavi for that. However, I'd like to use as few Google products as possible and use tools that respect my privacy. Thus, Proton Calendar.

To do this, I need to be able to at least export my calendar choosing which calendar and which dates into a CSV.

The best would be to have an analytics part where I'll be able to see directly the sum of my different time entries. And/or to work with another provider…

  3. Toggle to disable default calendar reminders

When I need to create a new event in Proton Calendar, I can do so super easily on desktop. Click on the day, enter a title, save and done.

I went and added a bunch of new appointments. All of a sudden I start receiving notifications for each one. It was very strange as I did NOT set any reminders. The calendar entry is my reminder, hence the purpose of a calendar.

After searching for a while, I found that when entering a new event, under "More options" there is a default notification set for same day, 15 minutes before.

  5. arch compatiblity - VPN and Calendar

I would like to see ProtonVPN and Proton Calendar for Arch Linux. I am not too comfortable with tuning/modding Linux, so i would like it to be simple to install, update and maintain.

  6. Read only offline calendar

I opened a separate idea compare to Offline calendar because I wanted to decouple being able to edit and add event from just being able to consult it in read only mode. I think the readonly is less hard to implement and could be quicker to release.
This said, consulting the calendar when we are offline is very necessary for this kind of app.

  7. Making calendar like budgeting app. Treat time like money.

    Hi,

Recently I read an article (written in Chinese) about treating time as money (https://rich01.com/time-bank/).
Time can be seen as a kind of asset that will automatically generate 1440 unit (then disappear) per day. So we might apply financial concept on time just as money:

    • Budgeting: Budget time and reserve it for important but not urgent things.
    • Emergency Reserve: Don't fill up schedule, keep enough flexibility for yourself to cope with unforeseen situations.
    • Bookkeeping: Keep track of your time.
    • Investment: Look for things that bring more value per unit of time invested.
    • Dollar-Cost Averaging: Allocate time to one…

  8. Address lookup when creating new events

Currently, entering an address for a new event is just a plain text field. Please add an address lookup so that we can search for addresses or search for locations by name.

  11. Family Planner View

To use proton calendar as a family planer it would be very useful to have a view that displays the days in rows and the different calendars as columns. Given that every family member has his/her own calendar, this view would generate a nice overview of what appointments everyone has on a specific day.

  12. Three Essential Missing Features (As Done by Microsoft Office)

Three Microsoft Office features that are essential (or nearly so) for a mature calendar application:
    1. Multiple notification defaults for invitations that are NOT yet accepted or even declined, e.g., an upcoming invitation decision (yes/no/maybe) may need to be made closer to that date, like the day before.
    2. Reoccurring dates often fall on a specific day of the week, month, or year, e.g., U.S. national holidays like Thanksgiving, but also in business and associations.
    3. Adjustable width (with pin) for left panel in Calendar, especially essential for smaller laptops such as Surface Go!

I cannot leave Microsoft Office behind…

  13. Diary

I would like to have a diary app that is private. While thinking about it, I realized it could be integrated into the Proton Calendar. While it is possible to use it as a diary aleady, i think it would be nice to have it a little more specialized for it with a few options. For example, there is no need to have schedules in a diary and some diary apps offer to set an emotion for each page. The date of an entry should be set automatically to the time that an entry is created. Like one can have…

  15. Lock screen widget for Samsung devices (One UI 6.1+)

Since I completely switched from Samsung Calendar to Proton Calendar I really miss the widget on my lock screen /Always On Display that shows the next event.

It would be great if Proton Calendar also had such an widget available.

Lock screen widgets are available for Samsung devices with Android 14+ / One UI 6.1+.

  16. Private flag in calendar

My wife sends some invitations from her proton calendar to her work calendar which is based on exchange. She always has to edit these events in work calendar afterwards and set the "private" flag, so that the the details are not visible to colleagues.
We would need a private flag for events in calendar that can be set, so that it is recognized from exchange and other systems that the invitation/events hast to be set to private state and thus details are not visible in the foreign system. Setting this flag should also work via mobile app.

  19. SCROLLING !

"Please, consider adding scrolling functionality to your calendar. It's much more convenient to scroll down using the mouse wheel."

Scrolling down is easier because it requires less effort and allows users to navigate through a large amount of content quickly, especially when compared to clicking through pages or sections.

  20. Share calendar without details

It would be really great if "Share with Proton users", Permissions: "See all events without details" would exist. Currently only: "See all event details" and "Edit event details" exist as permission options to share with other proton users.

The "Show others when I'm busy" (only when scheduling events) is not enough.

This features, when implemented would improve proton calendars productivity significantly and close the gap to the competition.
