Add 'search' to web app
There should be definitely, and fast, a "search" option in Proton Calendar.
One has to be able to find a word, a name, an address etc, instead of going back searching day-by-day this item.
Search is now available in the web app: https://proton.me/support/calendar-search

A calendar without a flexible search facility is somewhat less useful than a stack of Post-It notes stuck onto my white board.

10 out of 10 votes, if I could. How can you even release a product like a calendar without a search function ? what year is this, 1995 ?

I'm ditching google calendar, but frequently use the search option, and rely on this. Please, add this to Proton, so I don't have to also keep google around!

Just switched from google to proton (mail - calendar ) and cannot believe there's no way to search an event. there's no way someone could possibly think of a calendar app without a serach function

Duplicate. There is a much higher voted option already -> https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932842-proton-calendar/suggestions/42005188--search-option-in-proton-calendar

This is a critically important function. I would like to promote alt tech but this is a non-negotiable feature.

I desperately want to love Proton Calendar, after making the switch a few months ago. With the lack of a search function though, and no indication from Proton that this is in the pipeline, I'm now contemplating ditching it. I really don't want to do this, but hard to see what other options, as a calendar without a search function is *less* useful than a physical diary.

Given that I must spend hours looking day by day, month by month for a name I desperately need from a previous appt. I've decided to go back to google calendar for all my medical appts. Since proton has been pondering a search feature for years, I doubt they will ever make search available in the calendar. If I have to sacrifice privacy in order to gain access to my own information, so be it.

A calendar without search is...a Filofax (but less fun or attractive). Please, please make search a priority.

YES! A must-have.

YES! Please. I miss this too, and I'm surprised we don't have this with Proton yet.

Respectfully, Alex, the presence of the "Search message content" option for Proton Mail (which downloads email messages into one's local browser cache so that they can be searched locally) is proof that a similar approach can be taken with calendar search with Proton Calendar.
To my knowledge based on recent newsletters, the Proton team is focused on pushing a few new email-related features like scheduled sending (which itself may be technically involved due to encryption/maintaining privacy). I can't imagine that calendar search isn't on the shortlist for implementation after that.

This suggestion, which, to anyone who uses a calendar, is an obviously needed feature in calendaring app, is not only incompatible but contrary to Proton's philosophy.
My guess is that not enough thought went into the implementation - Proton is a company built ("bent on" is a more appropriate term, actually) around privacy and encryption, since this feature would make the calendar insecure by Proton's standards.
I'm no expert in encryption, but I believe that the problem is that it's possibly very complicated, if not impossible, to search encrypted data without compromising Proton's promise of zero-access.
This short discussion illustrates my point quite succinctly: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22286574/full-text-search-on-encrypted-data
In other words, I don't think this will ever be implemented, given how Proton has proved (so far) to be eager not to compromise in terms of security.
Given the above, as much as I'd like to see this feature implemented, I decided to withdraw my vote and save it for something more plausible.

I find it hard to believe that you've done cosmetic and branding changes before developing and deploying a search feature in the calendar. Does no one at Proton get what an urgent, indispensable this requirement is?
Without a published response with planed development and deployment date, I will be forced to find another calendar app and to forgo renewals to Proton. It's just bewildering that this feature hasn't been implemented yet!

I totally agree, this function is a must have.

This is a critical requirement for a digital calendar otherwise I’d just write it on paper.
