1. Remove Lumo Completely.

   Please remove lumo completely. It is grift and waste. At MINIMUM provide one button to completely deactivate everywhere. I do not want my subscription funds paying for this. I did not sign up for it, it was added without my consent and i find it very difficult to remove it from my sight.

2. Copy Lumo response as markdown

   Copying a Lumo response presently comes out as plain text (stripped down of formatting).
   Another button (or the same one with a dropdown option) could enable copying down the actual markdown formatting shown on screen instead.
   Essential when drawing up documents.
   The workaround today: copy the text, paste it into a new Proton Doc, and then copy as markdown from there. So it is feasible. The workaround is just cumbersome.

3. Increase web results

   I should be able to ask Lumo to research at least 15 reviews of a product or broaden the search. It can be a useable platform when the bias is so high from so little results. Especially when it finds selling platform results first.

4. Speech-to-text (use mic for desktop version)

   To dictate vague ideas and concepts while your browser captures the stream of thoughts is a real time saver and I feel enhances the experience of collaborating with the AI agent. I would really like to use my Mic with the desktop version of Lumo.

5. Improve Lumo’s UI/UX for a smoother, more responsive daily experience

   Dear Proton Community and Development Team,

   I would like to suggest improvements to Lumo’s user interface and overall user experience so that it feels smoother, more consistent, and better suited for daily use.

   Privacy and security are very important, and this is one of the main reasons why many users are interested in Proton products. However, for an AI assistant to become part of everyday work, it also needs to feel fast, polished, intuitive, and enjoyable to use.

   My request is specifically about improving the interaction design and visual consistency of Lumo.

   Suggested improvements:

   1. More responsive UI interactions
      Buttons, menus, input fields, and other interactive elements should provide clearer visual feedback when users hover, click, tap, open panels, or send messages.

   2. Smoother animations
      New messages, loading states, chat transitions, and opening or closing panels could feel more natural with subtle, polished animations.

   3. More consistent spacing, borders, and layout
      Some UI elements feel small or visually inconsistent. A more unified design system with consistent spacing, rounded corners, and clearer hierarchy would make Lumo feel more refined.

   4. More polished visual design
      A cleaner design language, possibly using soft rounded “squircle” shapes and subtle glass-like surfaces, could make the interface feel more modern while still remaining simple and professional. Dark and light modes are enough, but both should feel carefully designed and visually balanced.

   5. More personality in the Lumo brand elements
      The Lumo cat or logo could become slightly more interactive or reactive, for example during loading, idle states, or successful actions. This should remain subtle and professional, but it could make the product feel more alive and memorable.

   6. Better personalization inside Lumo
      It would be useful to allow users to upload files or reference material directly inside Lumo for personalization, similar to project-based workflows in other AI tools. This would reduce the need to paste very long texts manually.

   Why this matters:

   A secure AI assistant is valuable, but security alone is not enough for daily adoption. If the product feels too static, too small, or not responsive enough, users are less likely to use it regularly. A smoother and more consistent interface would make Lumo feel more mature, trustworthy, and pleasant to use.

   This request is not about adding unnecessary visual effects. It is about improving usability, consistency, responsiveness, and the overall feeling of quality.

6. Allow Lumo to be set as the voice assistant

   Dear Proton Team,

   I have always wanted a open source Voice Assistant on my phone as I do not want my conversations with a big tech company like Google Assistant or Gemini.

   Currently the only solution I know of is Dicio but the assistant is quite basic in its capabilities so far, Lumo would be a great option because it's based on intelligent AI from Proton.

   Arguments in favour of this integration:

   • Superior performance — Its Intelligence Index score of 57 surpasses the majority of direct competitors and usefully complements GLM-5.2 (score: 51). This model diversity would enable finer routing based on the nature of each request.

   • Extended context — With a native context window of 1 million tokens, Kimi K3 offers capabilities equivalent to GLM-5.2 for processing long documents, which is essential for academic research and the analysis of complex reports.

9. Shared Calendar Colors

   So when you share a calendar or invite someone else to it, it would be great or hugely beneficial if it would also save and use the specific colors people have already set for certain event types.
   Because currently it only shows all events in that shared calendar with the default color and the new users would have to change the colors for the respective event individually and manually, which kind of defeats the purpose of a shared environment if you ask me. I mean should each individual user still be able to change colors independently? Sure why not, but I think the default should be: Sync all events and their corresponding colors.

11. Allow Lumo to deal with Memory reduplicates

    I notice the memory list often has either exact duplicates or very similar worded info. I presume there is some kind of self-check to see if a memory has already been added. But its not quite up to standard.
    May i suggest can we give Lumo permission to comb through the memory and weed out duplicates or too similar ones. If there are edge cases it could apply a tag for a special filter called User Attention Needed (or something) and we can click on this button that is lit up when it has memories to assess and we only see the list of edge case memories and each one has a green tick button to approve or X to delete and a pencil icon to edit and once done we can tap the green tick button to allow it back into the main memories (and of course remove the special filter tag)

    Also to further enhance this idea, add search bar so we can see if what certain topics might be listed. And we could also filter our own manual memory entries with a command in the search bar: #you or /you

    When chats close due to resource limits, all invested context is lost. Users must re-upload files and start from scratch—wasting time and compute.

    Proposal: Let users selectively pull context from older chats into active conversations: "Lumo, check our chat from last week for what we found about XY." -> the desired feature is similar to "websearch" - just scoping the own (internal) activities.

    Optional: User tagging of important chats for quicker discovery.

    Why it fits: Same privacy model, just extended. Decryption stays client-side, metadata stays user-controlled and encrypted. No server-side indexing.

    Impact: Better session continuity, no redundant uploads, preserves invested work.

13. AI-powered billing verification for construction (delivery notes + measurement = invoice)

    I'm a construction site manager in landscaping (GaLaBau). Our industry software (greenGALA 8, BAUSU) is purely static – it generates output but performs no automated checks or reconciliations. Every verification is done manually: data entry, Excel cross-checks, triple manual control, handwritten delivery note sorting, and final invoice plausibility checks.

    The core billing equation in construction is: Delivery notes + Measurement = Invoice. There is currently no tool that automates this reconciliation across the entire chain.

    Three areas where AI support would create massive value:

    1. Delivery note processing – Delivery notes are often barely legible: handwritten, dirty, incomplete, filled out on-site. Manual sorting and data entry takes unreasonable amounts of time. OCR-based extraction, even from poor-quality scans or photos, would save hours per project.

    2. Measurement plan understanding – Measurements often exist as drawn plans or sketches, not digitally. If AI could read measurement plans and extract dimensions and quantities, that would eliminate another fully manual step.

    3. Final invoice plausibility check – The most error-prone and time-consuming step. Reconciling delivery note quantities and measurements against billed positions. Finding deviations that can't be logically explained.

    Concrete bug I already encountered: I uploaded a final invoice PDF + measurement list PDF to Lumo 2.0 Max (Thinking mode, web search enabled) and asked it to reconcile them. The processing log showed completion, but both times the output was: "Something went wrong." Reproducible twice with identical files and prompt.

    Financial reality: I pay for Lumo out of my own pocket, not through a company license. Tax deductibility covers only a fraction. If Lumo can't handle the core use case – reliable PDF billing verification – it's financially uninteresting for me.

    What I need: Reliable processing of two linked PDFs, structured table extraction, and automated discrepancy detection across delivery notes, measurements, and invoices – bundled in encrypted Lumo Projects. This applies to the entire construction industry, not just landscaping: civil engineering, road building, structural work, all trades.

    Happy to provide sample documents or beta-test features.

    We propose a restructuring of Proton Lumo's Free and Plus tiers to maximize user acquisition, engagement, and the demonstration of Lumo's powerful capabilities, while still maintaining Proton's commitment to privacy and sustainable growth. The current free tier's strict weekly query limit, while understandable for resource management, can hinder broad adoption and prevent users from fully experiencing the potential of Lumo.

    Our proposal is as follows:
    1. Lumo Free Tier Enhancement:
    * Unlimited Access to an Efficient AI Model: This would provide users with a robust, always-available AI for everyday tasks such as quick questions, brainstorming, simple content generation (e.g., drafting emails, social media posts), and basic information retrieval. This "efficient" model would prioritize speed and cost-effectiveness, making Lumo a truly reliable and consistent tool for daily, non-intensive AI interactions.
    * Limited Access to a Powerful AI Model (Reasoning, Math, Code, Complex Analysis): To allow free users to experience the cutting-edge capabilities of Lumo's more advanced models, we propose offering a limited quota for these "powerful" models. This limited access could be, for example, a specific number of queries per day/week, or a total token count. This "taste" of the powerful AI would be invaluable for showcasing its potential for complex problem-solving, detailed analysis, coding assistance, and advanced reasoning, thereby creating a compelling reason to upgrade.

    1. Lumo Plus/Pro Tier:

    • Unlimited Access to All Models (Efficient and Powerful): The premium tier would offer completely unrestricted access to both the efficient and powerful AI models. This would cater to power users, professionals, and developers who require seamless, high-volume access to Lumo's full range of capabilities for their critical and demanding tasks. This tier would retain all current Lumo Plus benefits, such as extended history, file uploads, and prioritized support, ensuring a comprehensive premium experience.

    Justification and Benefits:
    * Increased User Acquisition & Engagement: An "unlimited efficient" free tier would significantly lower the barrier to entry, encouraging more users to adopt Lumo for their daily AI needs, making it a staple tool.
    * Effective Upsell Strategy: By offering a direct, hands-on experience with the "powerful" AI models (even if limited) in the free tier, users can concretely see the value of upgrading to Lumo Plus for unlimited, high-performance capabilities. 15. Automatically save chat responses to a document

    In my view, Lumo 2.0 should prioritize its core strengths—leveraging the scientific and technical expertise behind Proton's mission—rather than focusing heavily on image generation. Image creation requires significant financial investment, and many established competitors already serve this market extensively. While I understand there may be legitimate privacy concerns around processing images, it seems the choice to pursue image generation was driven by market trends in AI rather than staying true to the scientific and educational purpose for which Proton was originally founded. My suggestion would be to refocus development resources toward those foundational goals where Proton has unique value and differentiation. For example;

    I am deciding at this time who to invest my time, information and money for ai services. I see the benefits of Claude and its ability of Coworker.
    What’s my issue.
    I want to use Lumo for my personal & business for knowledge management with Projects and Drive integration. Currently:
    index works beautifully, but saving responses requires manual copy/paste/upload.

    Requested Feature:
    Automatically save chat responses to a documents name it and to assign to Project folder I’m working in, into the Proton Drive,
    then index those files for future context retrieval without loading full conversation history.

    Thank you for your Suite, I have subscribed for mainly the vpn but have unlimited subscription. I don’t use extensively because the offering is still a bit raw. No sheet app for example or document app. So just waiting.

    In my view, Lumo 2.0 should prioritize its core strengths—leveraging the scientific and technical expertise behind Proton's mission—rather than focusing heavily on image generation. Image creation requires significant financial investment, and many established competitors already serve this market extensively.     Title: Offer competitively priced monthly-only options for add-ons (Lumo Plus, Meet Professional) without punitive markups

    Body:

    Users with sporadic needs — such as using Lumo Plus for a few intense workdays or Meet Professional for a rare large meeting — are currently penalized by the pricing structure.

    While annual plans offer a discount, they force a 12-month commitment for services that may only be needed for a few days. Monthly plans exist, but they often carry a significant premium compared to the monthly equivalent of the annual rate. This creates a "flexibility tax" that discourages users from paying only for what they actually use.

    I propose that Proton offer fairly priced monthly-only options for add-ons like Lumo Plus and Meet Professional, without a steep markup compared to the annual rate. This would allow users to:

    Subscribe only when needed (e.g., for one month before a big conference).
    Cancel immediately after without financial penalty.
    Align their spending directly with their actual usage patterns.
    

    Removing the "flexibility tax" would signal that Proton trusts its users to pay fairly for value received, rather than relying on long-term lock-ins to maximize revenue.

18. Abandon Lumo and use resources to address deficiencies in Proton's core secure IT services

    Of course, I have no idea how many people use Lumo or how valuable a business this is to Proton. I hope this suggestion may flush that knowledge out.

    Customers buy Proton services for its secure IT communications. That is - as far as I know - Proton's core business and its unique selling point.

    Many companies offer AI chatbots which - if they're ever useful at all (about which I have doubts) - improve through scale usage, something Proton seems unlikely to achieve, at least when compared to US behemoths.

    Proton appears to have a large development backlog in its core security offerings, if the list in this Proton Voice website is to be believed. Some core deficiencies have remained unaddressed for years. I assume (but don't know) that Proton, as well as other secure communications companies, are trying to deal with a flood of customers fleeing US services or who are nervous about a deteriorating security environment. If so, the demand will only increase.

    Proton makes secure IT better than it makes AI chatbots. Proton's reputation is in secure IT. I assume that Proton sells more secure IT services that AI chatbots. I suggest that AI chatbots are a lower priority for new and existing Proton customers than secure IT. I submit that the world does not need - and Proton is unlikely to sell - more AI chatbots, but the world does need - and Proton can sell - better secure IT services.

    Of course, I have no idea how many people use Lumo or how valuable a business this is to Proton. I hope this suggestion may flush that knowledge out.

    I’d like to be able to swipe the left sidebar with my finger in the iOS app both in and out.

    Right now you have to tap the sidebar toggle.
