Family Plan
Visionary is way too much of space, addresses and domains!
Normal family would use not more than 1GB per user and no more than single custom domain.
Main points for improvement:
- Increase the users to 10
- Decrease storage to 5GB total
- Decrease custom domains to 1
- Remove ProtonVPN
And then have price around 10EUR/month to be truly affordable.
Thanks for your feedback! Family plans are available: https://proton.me/support/get-started-proton-family
For additional suggestions, please create a new feature request.

I echo Golliwog. For my family, this is essential.
> I wish I could create '@pm.me' account for the non-primary accounts. This really really means a lot to me. Wish I could manage the whole family through a single subscription with the business features.
And this would be great considering family members will start to manage their own families.
> Also wish there was an account join and account spin-off feature for merging or spinning off existing accounts into their own plans.
Not being able to use @pm.me accounts makes the business plan inappropriate for my family.

I have Visionary and I like that the plan is overkill.
I wish I could create '@pm.me' account for the non-primary accounts. This really really means a lot to me. Wish I could manage the whole family through a single subscription with the business features.

I second this idea. With Google One I get: Premium support, 2TB of shareable storage space across all services that would use data: email, photos, contacts, calendar, cloud storage, VPN for $99 a year for up to 6 family members. If Proton can beat this deal you would gain users as the same product is offered but with your enhanced security and privacy. I would also ask for you to figure out how to backup and restore android and iphones using your service as either as built in feature or through education as an article with a trusted application or service.

Please establish a Family Plan for accounts and pricing: one price, with separate accounts for each family member and the ability to have a shared family calendar -- and maybe even shared Proton drive space. Having separate unlimited accounts for both parents and all children is not a good deal for families. I'm pretty sure this would be hugely popular, greatly appreciated, and you'd probably be surprised by how fast it increases the growth of Proton.

Like some of the other users here, I did sign up for 2 years only to find out afterwards that I can practically only have one usable account/address. I will certainly not renew the unlimited plan.

I cannot switch to Proton without this feature.

I literally just purchased the business plan because the description suggested they were not just aliases but actual separate email addresses.
Obviously, that was immediately refunded.
All the offerings and price of the plan do not make sense for one single account. -

Fully support this, but would be nice if you could pay to "add on" an additional domain. Use case: I'm getting married and I'd like to set up a shared domain for the two of us, but also keep using my personal domain that I've had for a long time.

I currently use MS365 family plan, and would switch in a heartbeat if you offered an unlimited family plan.

I can't justify the business email cost for me and my wife. I also signed up for 2 years because the unlimited said 15 email addresses, and it appears i'm out my money. Didn't realize it was one user account. 2 users would be fine, 5 would be great. even a small start up business would benefit greatly by this change.
It appears this little detail has fooled more than just me. If protonmail wishes to keep this 15 email for one user policy, a clarifing statement would be good.

Honestly for the price point for the unlimited plan, I can’t make this work without this enhancement. No way could I pay for the business plan and it’s just my wife and I and perhaps our grown kids and spouses if they want. I guess I was naive in thinking that if you can setup 15 email accounts that they couldn’t be 15 different users each with their own account. Ugh, I even paid for two years up front, bought my own domain, jumped through hoops to get the DNS right to point to ProtonMail, test it out, etc. Deal breaker is that I don’t want to have to sift through hundreds of spam messages my wife signs up for to get to my emails, nor would I expect her to do the same for mine. It’s my guess that I’m now screwed out of my money, but this is unusable for me at this point

Family plan with separate proton accounts is needed.
It could be something simple as just giving a discount for multiple accounts. Users may eventually want to leave the family group.
Or it could be sharing resources -

This is a great idea. I would be willing to pay a little more to get my wife and daughter set up on Proton and free them from Google and Microsoft tyranny. Perhaps the way to do it is to add a small fee per additional user to your account. Each user gets their own email address (and inbox, please do not make us share the inbox..) and a share of the total available storage. Storage could be allocated and managed by a designated 'family administrator'
The needs of families are NOT the same as needs of a business and lumping them together is not helpful. I do not want to pay the business account rates, nor do I want to pay for three Unlimited Plans. I would pay a little more for a "family" version of my plan; I would even buy a little more storage for us all to share under that plan. I think there are many others here who feel the same way from reading the comments.
I do love Proton though, and am so happy I made the switch!! Would love for my wife and daughter to enjoy the privacy and security benefits as well; at a reasonable price...

This is a must-have for the modern service - everyone strives to provide a family access. Promoting business plan as a "for families" option does only one thing - it kills the idea of a family sharing.

I have seen a handful of other users say something similar, but mostly what I am looking for is the ability to share my custom domain with other users.
If my family could use my domain with the free account that would solve what I’m hoping to accomplish. Or even with the $3/month plan. I have the premium plan.

I can see in the comments that there are a lot of people wanting their specific plan configuration, I think this is probably too much to ask from Proton. Perhaps a customise plan configurator would suit this. I have another idea for family accounts;
Do exactly what iCloud does. One person purchases a Proton Professional account and there family members Proton Accounts can join as family members. They share the custom domain features and are able to eat in to the Primary users' storage (while keeping storage separate of course.)
I would recommend allowing Professional users to be able to purchase additional storage too for larger families. Or allow each user to pay for additional storage. Also give the family organiser account the ability to limit the amount of shared storage each family member can occupy. -

Couldn't agree more. A family account with a reduced set of features of the Business-account and for a better price. I would then add the rest of my family.
