Family Plan
Visionary is way too much of space, addresses and domains!
Normal family would use not more than 1GB per user and no more than single custom domain.
Main points for improvement:
- Increase the users to 10
- Decrease storage to 5GB total
- Decrease custom domains to 1
- Remove ProtonVPN
And then have price around 10EUR/month to be truly affordable.
Thanks for your feedback! Family plans are available: https://proton.me/support/get-started-proton-family
For additional suggestions, please create a new feature request.

I’d like to sign up but a 60% increase in cost to go from 1-2 is steep. How about allowing 2-5 users in Plus tier before whacking me $8user?

It would be nice to have a family plan available instead of just the business ones

Hello, I think any paid account that allows to have multiple emails should be able to offer an "@protonmail.com" e-mail address.
This could be a feature that could surely move families from other email providers, not just companies with users.

Visionary is not affordable for my family, what a shame. I agree with the other comments and feature requests to review this offering with families instead of businesses in mind.

Would like to request a budget-friendly family-focused multi-user account, with calendar, contact and to-do sharing. Probably doesn't need multi-domain support, catch-all email, or priority support. Maybe limited to 6 or so users? Not many family-focused solutions, of course besides google and apple!

I would sing up for visionary account for my family if it were less expensive. Have you considered a lower monthly fee for the families of your supporters? Somewhere in between the plus and visionary

It would be great to have a family package in the pricing model. Something between plus and professional.
Something like:
- 4 users
- 15 Gb shared storage
- 1 address per user
- 1 custom domainWhen the ProtonCloud feature becomes available then you can also add options for shared drive space.
And would be nice to have a full family package containing; email, cloud storage and secure VPN.

Yes please - professional and visionary are simply too high an entry point for the features needed by a family account

I've been wishing to switch to ProtonMail and checking the pricing every one in a while. However this price is crazy for a family of 4. I'd be glad to support ProtonMail and pay for its services but I'm not willing to pay business price for 4 low-traffic accounts and for features that have little or no value for family use. I'd love to teach my kids about Internet privacy & safety but you basically ask the same price from kids in elementary school as from someone who makes money using professional email services???

I already pay for the professional plan for personal use. I'd like to extend the option for my family to have private, secure e-mail under a common domain.
It seems exagerated to pay 5€/month for every extra user. My use case includes school age children that will contribute little to no traffic.
I'm willing to pay more but ProtonMail could really meet us halfway here and support privacy advocacy and education for the little ones.

Yeah, the professional account has the same problem, and presume the plus account.
Seems like an obvious and simple thing, given that the code appears to already be there for the main account. -

Hi,
I have a ProtonMail Plus account, and happy with that.
My wife is also using Protonmail (thanks to me :) ) but only the Free account.
She would love to have the Plus features, but the price tag is high, especially when your are in the same household...Is there a way to offer a "family bundle"?
The perfect bundle for me would be a Plus account, where another person can share your storage plan (I have 10 GB, so let's say we split in two or I decide how to allocate space), but the other person has a complete control over her/his account. Basically, two users for the price of one (or one and half)...
And the idea is to go farther with your existing products and the ones in the future.
There will be a gap between one person in a family who has all your products (right now = mail + VPN) and others who will use the free versions and say "it's nice, but we live together and we can not afford both having the payed plan. So you have this good service, privacy oriented etc etc, meanwhile I have the free version with its limitations...what's the point? I go for the easy route = gmail, dropbox and alternatives.".
I am absolutely certain, that a nice price for a family bundle, will allow a larger adoption of Protonmail services.
Thank you for your attention :)

I will also look to move to another provider when my plan is up, my family are all still on gmail which defeats the whole point of joining. Seems a simple fix to have a family plan why is it not available?

I am about to move away from Protonmail for exactly this reason. My wish is also to have multiple family members on a custom domain. Currently I'm the only user on this domain on a Plus plan (€48 per year). Adding a second user will require an upgrade to Business which comes at €75 / year / user. I will use no other features of the Business plan other than to have multiple users on the domain, and to me this feels not worth the steep price increase (+50%).

I was going to purchase the plus plan with the custom domain until I realized it would not handle my 4 family members having one e-mail address each. The cost is near $300 /yr for a family of 4. I had to do another search on secure e-mails. I found Tutanota will only cost ~$60/yr and is what I am most likely to purchase toward solely due to affordability.

By continuing from the "PROFESSIONAL" account solution from another wrongly "completed" feature request.
I'm totally for this proposed change, "PROFESSIONAL" still has too many bells and whistles for family like use.
I just want to be able to add more users(family members) to PLUS and pay for them monthly with all the other normal features of the PLUS plan.I mean, I have like other 5 family member that I would like pay for, in total 25Euro/month instead of 5Euro/m.
Wouldn't you like a x5 revenue from a single user? -

Agreed!

even two additional would be helpful. Don't need 5,000 as in the next plan up.
