  1. 2FA by hardware key only

Being able to add physical Fido token is great but I would like that the requirement for TOTP to be removed.

TOTO is quite often software based and software = surface of attack. Physical token allow air gap and are very secure and I don’t need TOTP personally, it makes my account vulnerable.

Also just like Apple, a minimum of 2 physical tokens should be enforced since having a single token is putting you at risk of you loose it. 2 or more should be the rule of thumb.

  2. Option to filter calendar imports

When I import calendar events from Google to Proton, the process is slow, taking many minutes to complete.

I don't care to import every single event ever created in my Google account. I only care about events in the current year, recurring series with events in the future, and events in the past 1-3 years for bookkeeping purposes.

Please prototype an option to skip calendar sync data from 4+ years ago, in order to accelerate calendar syncing operations.

Also, where API's support it, automatically sort the incoming data feed by date descending. So that the most relevant events are synced…

  3. Proton Calendar: Core buttons disabled in search UI

The Attending? Yes/No/Maybe buttons, and the delete event button, are unavailable for event matches in the Proton Calendar search UI.

This makes the interface awkward to work with. I have a slew of events that I want to quickly reject and then delete based on search terms.

  4. New Google Calendar synced events not displaying in Proton Calendar

Some important events for coordinating flights in Google Calendar are not displaying in Proton Calendar views.

The events show up when I use the Proton Calendar search box, but the day, week, and month views hide them.

This appears to be a glitch due to the fact that the suggested workflow to import Google data to Proton fails to keep calendar data continuously synced with Google. Would like to disable Google Calendar, Google Contacts, etc. default in those workflows. Present a warning banner that these are one-time syncs, not continuous syncs. Because an ICS subscription is more reliable than one-time…

  5. Proton Mail: Misbehavior for autodetected calendar events

I am a member of some mailing lists, but I do not attend their ICS events. I have setup Proton Mail rules to automatically archive many of the emails. But the events included as ICS email attachments are forcibly appearing in Proton Calendar.

Proton Mail fails to show a prompt to accept vs. reject the events in the emails, like it does for other email events.

Proton Mail may be blindly auto accepting the events.

Proton Mail fails to infer based on configured archive/delete rules, that invitations mentioned in the matching emails should not be accepted.

    Proton Mail filters should…

  6. Drift for newly created calendar events

I carefully drag & drop the boundaries for new Proton Calendar events, typically aligned to perfect start of hours or half hours. But the events ignore this and try to start and end around fifteen minutes earlier.

I seem to have to remember to verify the event details and correct them, for every single event or series that I create. What you see is not what you get.

This happens on Apple mobile devices.

  7. Confusing email address shown for imported calendars

When I import a Google calendar to Proton, then the calendar is labelled with my Proton email address rather than the Gmail address. This creates confusion about whether new events are placed on Proton vs Google accounts.

  8. Bad UX for declined events

Please don't force declined events to display. Not in the Proton Calendar clients. Not in calendars subscriptions shared with other Proton users. Not in ICS subscriptions exported to other platforms.

Also, allow declined events to simply be deleted.

  9. Implement moving events between different (Proton) calendars

When I try to edit which calendar an event belongs to, I get an annoying error "Coming soon."

As a workaround, you have to manually create an equivalent event on the desired calendar, review for accuracy, and then go back and delete the duplicate event on the original calendar. This is slow and error prone. If you want to change the calendar association again, you have to repeat the entire process. Nasty.

This happens on Apple mobile devices.

  10. Bad calendar series editing UX

When changing the start date of a recurring series, Proton Calendar DELETES one or more days of the week that the series is configured to apply to.

    This is exceptionally accident prone.

    This happens on iOS.

  11. SPACE between Folders and Labels

    Typing from Proton plus-paid account.

PLEASE reduce the space (gap, interstice, slot, or however you name it) between the folders.

The significant amount of space between the folders is causing inconvenience. It's almost as if an entire folder could fit in this gap. This inefficiency makes it cumbersome and almost confusing to navigate through the folders, especially when one has to scroll extensively to find the right one.

It would be great to see some upgrades for this feature in a very near future.

BTW: I do not believe that actually PM support takes those suggestions serious. Any feedback from…

  14. Proton Docs URGENTLY needs a dark mode.

That wall of white when opening Docs is further ruining my already bad eyesight. A splash of colour here and there will be great as well.

  15. For business accounts implement better data management features in drive and mail.

Add a data management console in Proton Drive at the account management level that allows the account holder or users flagged as part of the business' compliance team to review the data hosted by proton for audit/ATIP/regulatory/statutory compliance purposes.

Features like access logs, versioning, and permission management would be key.

A toggle allowing a business to select a predetermined standard (such as GDPR or the UK Privacy standard) for their organization or user groups within their organization would be ideal. Only a few standards would be necessary overall, as smaller countries and regions usually follow a bigger regime.

    This would…

  16. iPad Proton Pass: Inconsistent tab navigation behavior

The iPad edition of Proton Pass doesn't always respond well to the tab key when navigating UI elements.

For example, when using an official Apple iPad physical keyboard, then pressing the tab key inserts a literal tab into the Proton Pass login item title, rather than navigating down to the next element, the email address field.

  17. Not to save app login in data in iCloud backups

This has happened multiple times on all of my proton apps. I have an iPhone and if I delete an app and reinstall it, the log in information is still saved. If I do a complete wipe and restore from backup, when I open the apps they are still logged in. This has to be a Proton thing because banking apps, for example, are all logged out and need to be logged in again.

  18. Set the default email address as the from/reply-to on replies

I'm using my own domain, and it would be nice if my default e-mail address was what actually was the default when replying to an e-mail rather my email @proton.me. It's very counter-intuitive to have to manually change the reply-to on my replies from a drop-down every single time. Respectfully, I don't understand why this is an issue.I asked this of tech support and their response was that it simply wasn't possible, which strikes me as rather strange.

  19. Confusing Proton Drive Web upload queue processing order

When I drag & drop multiple files into the Proton Drive Web queue, then I expect the queue order to be consistent. But I'm seeing the "queue" process in a random order, which makes it harder to understand.

    Update:

The queue processing order appears occur in the order that the files are dragged & dropped into the Proton Drive Web client, after watching several transfers complete. However, the visual order of the queue is what is out of whack. Some part of the Web app is losing information about the queue order before the elements are presented on screen.

  20. Proton Drive: Desktop uploads not as reliable as Web uploads

For some reason, Proton Drive desktop uploads keep failing over and over, indefinitely. Whereas the Proton Drive Web client is able to successfully upload files (and show basic information about transfer rates and ETA's).

This happens with large files on slow networks.

I find it surprising, because normally a native application has more opportunity for control and tapping into performant, reliable code than Web apps.

Unfortunately, the Web client was never designed to automatically sync the local Proton Drive directory tree. So although it is able to upload files, manually dragging & dropping hundreds of files creates more labor compared…
