  2. Personal Data Removal

A new service focused around removing personal data from sites like TruePeopleSearch and Whitepages. Since the whole idea of Proton is focused around privacy, I believe it would make a great addition to the current services provided by Proton. It would make it a perfect tool for new users who getting into privacy control and for current users who are serious about their privacy. Let me know what you guys think!

  3. Upgrade email encryption for existing addresses and emails

As a long-time Proton-supporter (amongst the first users), my encryption keys for emails are rather old and somewhat not state of the art anymore (e.g. RSA 2048-bit).

The current feature to generate new keys requires me to keep the old keys for old emails intact - but I'm looking for a feature that would actually allow me to REPLACE my existing key with a more modern and secure key for ANY of my emails.

That would require all existing emails to be decrypted on the client with the existing key and encrypted with the new key/algorithm but would allow for…

  4. Enhanced email formatting features

Proton's email formatting features are too limited for Proton to be the world's leading secure email provider.

I suggest that Proton have at look at Zoho's and Gmail's formatting suites. For example, emails look much better and are more readable when the content area is narrowed and centered on the page (needs "deep" indent feature).

Line spacing and undo features are most valuable, too. These are must have basics.

  5. Option to collapse sidebar

The left-hand menu sidebar occupies excessive space. Could we implement a new layout feature allowing users to collapse it? This feature would function similarly to Gmail's sidebar: when the mouse hovers over the area, it expands, and when the mouse moves away, it collapses. This would improve usability and maximize screen real estate.

  6. Android adaptive / material / themed icons

Please make icon's theme-able. More and more 3rd party apps already support it, Proton sticks out like a sore thumb.

  7. Graphene Apps

It would be nice to have native versions of the apps on Graphine OS, as it's security focused too. I think the only way to install them there at the moment is in a sandboxed mode, but I haven't tried because there are a few things like password management I want to retain functionality of before I make the steps to de-google. Going through the process of flashing my phone to Graphene, only to find the Proton apps aren't able to function would stop me from going that direction for the moment.

  8. Emergency lock out

It would be highly practical to have an option for a general or emergency lock out for Mail, Calendar, Pass and Drive related to the same account on all devices at the same.

  9. note taking app

    Hi,

I have been thinking about moving to the Proton environment as at the moment I am paying for several services as Last Pass and Nord VPN.

Said that, I am wondering if you have a plan to deploy a note taking app like "Notion" or "Evernote" .

From my experience Notion has the best features and layout and I would love to have something similar.

    Thank you
    Valerio

  10. Crowdfund Linux parity

Run a crowdfunding campaign to put complete Linux parity on the Proton roadmap. This will allow customers and potential customers to demonstrate support more tangibly than with suggestions and votes.

It is clear from broad and specific suggestions here on UserVoice that there is customer demand for improved Linux support. I can only assume that you are lacking concrete evidence for the SIZE of the demand. This is the intended purpose of crowdfunding campaigns.

This is a specific, actionable suggestion to provide a solid business case for Linux support. It would also provide potential customers with confidence that Linux support…

  11. Proton Office

Now with the acquisition of Standard Notes I think there is room to expand its features with PowerPoints and Documents. It already has Spreadsheets. Then it would start being an alternative for Microsoft Word and PowerPoint (or Googles services). I think that would be a great addition for individuals but of course also businesses.

I personally need an Office program and since I can't sync my documents from MS Office automatically with Proton Drive, this would kill two birds with one stone.

  12. Private discussion even if sender uses gmail

Hello, what is the point of using protonmail if the person who receives the email or who sends it uses gmail, outlook... If google can see the content protonmail is of no use. I keep seeing a banner changing subscription at the top but how do you expect us to pay if we know that the person who sent us the email did it with an advertising company? In addition, the protonvpn application from the store on Linux does not work and neither does the kill switch.

Finally, I think that the fact that proton is financed by the European…

  13. Standard Notes Acquisition and Full Google Drive Alternative Build

With the recent acquisition of Standard Notes, it seems like Proton has plans to do what was done with SimpleLogin: maintain the original service while also integrating a version of it into the Proton workflow. I speculate that something like "Proton Notes" - built off the Standard Notes code - is on the horizon. And if so, I really hope Proton also pays attention to the open-source code of CryptPad and (the now-defunct) Skiff Pages and makes real-time collaboration possible. This will put Proton Drive on-par with Google Drive - except, of course, it will be E2E encrypted. This would…

I suggest that Proton develop a contact application similar to the Contact application that Apple has.

  15. Configure spellchecker language in desktop app

In a browser, Proton Mail benefits from the browser functions to spell check. In the new Proton Mail installed application, the language cannot be configured or I do not know how to do it...

It would be very useful to be able to configure the spell checker language for people that are writing in a language that is different than the OS language used.

    Thank You

  16. Hotkey / shortcut to switch between mail and calendar desktop app

Similar to https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/46942153-switch-between-applications-in-same-window but on DESKTOP instead of in browser.

Since desktop does not support tab views, I want a quick way to switch between Mail & Calendar.

Currently I have to inefficiently move hands from keyboard and:
    1. switch from typing to mouse
    2. select the app picker
    3. select the app

For example, I would like to be able to press Ctrl + 1 for Mail, Ctrl + 2 for Calendar, etc

This is how Slack works when switching Workspaces, as an example.

  17. Delete additional Proton addresses

I was trying to add an address with a custom domain but accidentally used proton.me instead of my domain name. I cannot remove the address I accidentally added, and it counts towards my limit of 10 addresses. Not cool, Proton.

  19. Wiki with RBAC

I'd like to see an E2EE Wiki product with full role based access controls (RBAC), ie. owner, editor, viewer, etc. and integration with Proton Drive for files. This would be invaluable to me in both personal (family) and business use cases.

As far as I know, no one but Skiff has really tried this so it must be really really hard. But I also think it would be really really valuable.

  20. Show release notes pop up

All Proton applications are rapidly evolving. It would be awesome to provide a summary of changes when users open the app for the first time after an update.
