Modernize Standard Notes
In a market with consolidated competitors such as Obsidian, Anytype, AFFiNE, among others, it is essential that Standard Notes offers real-time collaboration features, in addition to the other editing functions of its competitors.
The dated interface is also a problem. When you look at the UI/UX of competitors, you can see how Standard Notes needs a design makeover to modernize it and get it out of that dated software look.

Linux supported equally
Linux is very popular among privacy concerned users, who make up a large chunk of Proton's userbase. However, Proton fails to provide any solid Linux apps and frequently leaves them unmaintained or released years after the initial product launch. Proton should make Linux a first-class platform, with proper support from day one.

Focus on existing products
I think Proton is already spreading itself too thin with all these different products, yet there are lots of things to improve on the existing ones.

Inactive account policy - keep account when deleting data
Hello proton team
I have a new suggestion regarding the inactive account policy. Instead of permanently deleting a user's account if they haven't logged in for a year, I propose an alternative approach.
The idea is to delete their data while keeping the account itself, which would minimize costs for Proton. In the event that the user logs in again at a later time, they would login to an empty account (like if they just created it), but at least they won't lose their email address.
A lot of users keep a protonmail account as a recovery email for other…

Don't use Proton username when sending calendar invites
I use custom domains, partly to avoid giving any personal information to services that don't need it, and partly as an added layer of security for my Proton account. I've never (intentionally) shared my Proton username with anyone. I noticed when sending a calendar invite that it included my Proton username. Can we either get a separate field for invites, or can this be updated to use the existing user-specified display name field?

Migrate to quantum resistant algorithms
Quantum computing breaking common cryptography algorithms is a future problem that will affect all data that is stolen/collected now and that contains sensitive information we may NEVER want to share

Proton Family pricing options
I'm happy to see the newly released Proton Family plan! I've been waiting around for something like this for a while. However, I don't really need to support 6 users in my small family. Can we instead get pricing per member? The current pricing is about 3.33 USD per member per month, at 19.99 USD per month if you get the 2 year plan. How about flexible pricing: 2 members = 4.99 USD each, 3 members = 4.49 USD each, 4 members = 3.99 USD each, 5 members = 3.49 USD each, 6 members 3.33 USD each.

Improve Proton's Open source development
Proton has two great assets, the privacy respecting side and its Open source orientation.
However, some apps/services still aren't published openly (Calendar app for Android/iOS, amongst others).
So :
1. Make all apps and services open source
2. Activate issues on repositories
3. Invite community to actively participate in the development of the ecosystem
=> Proton apps become more reliable, with faster feature development and availability and it allows for greater transparency and sense of trust from the customers and community.24 votes -
Proton Mail Plus with Pass Plus
I am a Proton Mail user paying $3.49 a month, and I would be more than happy to pay an additional $1.99 per month to add Proton Pass Plus, totalling $5.48
Proton Drive is of no use to me (I am a Linux user and there is no native client), and I also have no interest in using the VPN
Granted $5.48 a month vs $7.99 a month isn't that big of a difference, but because I'm currently on a 24 month plan that's $109.73 I would have to pay upfront for features I have no interest in using. I'd…

Proton drive should remove "my computer" feature on PC and have a single default sync folder like MEGA.
When I use mega, I can upload my document on my mobile phone and it immediately gets downloaded on my PC mega folder. Vise versa.
Proton drive should do the same.
The "My computer" folder sync feature on PC is completely useless. Your ios app don't even have the "my computer" folder. It means I cannot access information on my mobile when I upload documents on my PC. You should make a default cloud drive folder like MEGA. Let users drag their documents to that folder, auto sync, and it should be available on all platforms. More user friendly.
Thank…

Proton Pass: Integrate with HTTP Basic Auth
Please integrate with HTTP Basic Auth. Many services, such as Transmission Remote, continue to rely on HTTP Basic Auth to implement authentication.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Authentication
This problem seems to happen in multiple browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others. Work with browser developers to fix how HTTP Basic Auth integrates with password managers.
As a workaround, the Proton Pass user has to manually copy the credentials via the clipboard, which is slow.
Concurrently, please work with Transmission developers to get a more modern, password manager friendly authentication system stood up, so that the service will no longer rely on HTTP…

Extra domains for Duo and Family accounts
I would like to see more domains for Duo and Family accounts. I have a domain for both my real and internet alias as does my spouse. This creates a total of 4. The limit of 3 domains for Duo and Family we would not be able to bring all of our existing email addresses to Proton without getting a business account or an awkward simple logon setup.

Report commonly used passwords
As a security minded user, I want to be warned when my password matches one from a breach, even if the username / email address is unrelated, so that I can protect my accounts from credential stuffing.
Example username agnostic password lookup service:
https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords
I imagine that Proton Pass can add some new, ID decoupled queries to its existing breach data sources that would fulfill the same need.

YouTube stopped working through ProtonVPN
The YouTube iOS app no longer loads when using ProtonVPN, at least for the default US server I connected to.
As a workaround, I am no longer using ProtonVPN on mobile.

Proton Mail: Request option to hide unread counts
I find notifications distracting and cherish very fine grained controls. I want an option to hide unread counts. To me the Show: Unread setting is sufficient to manage my conversations. No interest in seeing a number fluctuate beside the Inbox and other folders.

Confusing UX when attempting to decline individual event in an invitation series
When I try to delete a specific event in a series, then Proton Calendar shows a prompt with warnings about declining the whole series. But that's not what I want!
I want to decline only that particular event, not the series.
Most Proton Calendar event deletions correctly show a prompt with the option to apply the action to just one event vs. all events in the series. But invitation events from emails seem to break UX there.

Arch Linux support
Hello,
In my eyes, Arch Linux is striding to be a Linux distribution that comes with sane defaults and lets the control in the hands of the user. While this may lead to a less secure operating system in the hands of less experienced users, this does enables it to be a viable choice when security and privacy is important.
The active community of Arch Linux is quite enormous, even when compared to giants like Ubuntu and RHEL. Many of the latest versions of mainstream packages are easy to find with pacman, while if that does not suffice, there are…
