Tags to organize entries
I've used 1Password and Bitwarden. They are both lack of generic feature - organization of entries.
Dealing with Search is a great way. But just full text search makes search results somekind of mess.
Having ability to Tag passwords and other entry types will make UX much better:
- search results can be ranked by tag names, titles and only then other fields
- ability to Pin tags into sidebar can be very handy (do not list all the available tags like 1Password do - it's useless)
- tags help to create many view perspectives onto my data
Please do not implement Folders like Bitwarden do. It is so restrictive. Implement tags instead with special UI so that specific tags could behave like folders (because many users prefer folders).

Please, take an inspiration from SafeInCloud manager. There, the tags are implemented in a way, that feels just right.
This is a CRITICAL feature which should've been implemented a long time ago.

I'd love having tags in PP

I like the idea. Adding a table inside a database should be fairly easy. Also I suggest to add default tags like "Passkey" while a new passkey is created.

It would also be better to improve the search algorithm (for example when you search a keyword, it should also index logins that contain this keyword in the additional fiels).
It would make it easier to find the right logins -

C'mon, let's get this tags feature implemented. It's such an important way of organising vault items. I have over 600 items in my 1Password vault, most of which are tagged to organise. I will not migrate to PPass until tags are featured.

i also come from 1password but i switched to proton unlimited now. i have a huge number of passwords and just vaulting them is not enough. i would appreciate tags immensely for a better structure.

I've used 1Password for years. One of the important things I do with tags is to tag my logins with a tag that represents the credit card I use on the site. So if a card number changes for any reason, I can easily search my password db for where I need to replace that card.

Since the beginning, Proton Team suggest to create Vaults to sort our hundred and thousands passwords. This is a non sense ! It's not the purpose of vaults (it's more, for example, separate personal and professional things). Tags is one of the best features of other managers like 1password!

At this point I'm using vaults in place of tags, but it really limits me to either a ridiculous number of vaults, or broad categories with little ability to simplify. Tags and a mechanism to filter for them, or treat them effectively as folders (especially if tag-sub or tag.sub implicitly allowed folder navigation, similar to pwsafe)

Being able to add 1 or more tags to a entry is crucial.
When you have multiple teams and vaults the possibility of listing all items with a certain tags would be a huge improvement.
Also as an individual this would greatly increase usability. -

Same here, I would also buy family Proton Pass if there were tags.

We use tags in 1Password to organize our passwords. It’s an essential feature for managing the size and complexity of our vaults, as we have thousands of entries. We’re holding off on transiting to Proton Pass until this is implemented or we find a reasonable workaround. Thank you.

I would seriously consider switching from Bitwarden if this was implemented.
This feature was requested for Bitwarden in 2018 and they still didn't implement it :( -

I am using Tags in 1password to identify accounts that are setup to use my main and backup yubikey. That will be a need to have for me to transition to ProtonPass.

Tags is a CRITICAL, quality-of-life feature missing in Proton Pass. For me, it's the #1 advantage of 1Password over other PMs and the feature that makes me miss it the most. It's disheartening to see it still missing from the roadmap (https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-2025).
In case someone reading wants a poor man's workaround to not having tags, I've been using #hashtags on a dedicated "tags" field on each item. Adding "#" to the tags and in the searchbar, helps to avoid matching words on other fields or the notes sections, but it's not perfect.
Given how tags can help implement folder systems (even if no fully-fledged folders feature exists), I really hope they prioritize this feature soon.

As a Visionary account holder, there are only two things that are preventing me from switching from 1Password to Proton Pass: one is that there are still a LOT of websites for which Proton Pass doesn't detect and present passwords. The other is the absence of tags. I have a lot of client passwords; it's not practical to have a vault for each client, it's impractical to store them all in one a separate vault, and it's impractical to add the client name to each login's title. Tags, such as exist in 1Password, are the ideal solution.
