    Proton can't reasonably offer as much for free as Google does because they don't use your data to profit as much as Google does.

    A short memorable "password" works just fine as an arbitrary username. It's what I did here for Uservoice.

    For now you can use the "memorable" password option with a lower word count to generate a username (it's what I did here).

    Standard phone networks are inherently not secure. If you need encrypted calling, use something else like XMPP or Jitsi.
