Family would switch to Proton if calendar was usable on iOS app. But also note that for unskilled users (often the family members that aren't on board with Proton) being able to set the shared calendar as the default calendar is as important as being able to create events on it. Otherwise they will just keep creating events and not notice they are going on the wrong calendar.
