How can we improve Proton Calendar?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Select which of my emails/aliases a calendar invite is FROM

    Option list in each appointment that lists my emails to choose which one is the 'from' address for the appointment.

    POSSIBLY COOLER: Option list of default "from email"s for EACH CALENDAR I set up!!! - Every appointment set up with that Calendar/color will be from the configured alias/email

  2. Sync blocked time slots in third party calenders

    I am missing a function that allows me to integrate my (private/family) calendar from Proton into an external calendar (at work) in order to recognise appointment collisions. I don't want to keep my private appointments in my work calendar and I don't want to disclose all the details of my private calendar in my work calendar.

    As a minimum, it would be sufficient if I could only see the blocked time slots in the external calendar. However, it would also be worth considering being able to set the permitted content on the interface itself.

  3. Allowing big calenders from published ICS (Outlook)

    I'm currently trying to show my corporate calendar in Proton, using the Outlook publish function. In the default iOS app this works flawlessly.

    in proton I get a error 'Not syncing' 'Too big'. Indeed it's a big calendar, but this should not be an issue. Google/iOS have no issues with this size.

  5. Response time?

    Why does the system buffer for few seconds each time a new item is entered; it would be much more efficient and user friendly if immediate?

    Why is there no “Return” key available when trying to edit (within the Description section); instead “Done” is only available?

  8. When will we be able to change calendars on iPhone?

    When I put an Appointment into my calendar on my iPhone and forget to change it from My Calendar to my Appointment calendar I still cannot go back and change it.

  9. Hourly Event Repetition

    Currently, users can set events to repeat every X days, weeks, months, or years. However, it would be beneficial to include the option for events to repeat every X hours as well.

    This feature would be particularly useful in scenarios such as:

    1. Medication Reminders: Users could set reminders for medications that need to be taken every few hours throughout the day.

    2. Work Shifts: Users with irregular work shifts could schedule reminders for shift changes at intervals of a few hours.

    3. Task Management: Users could create tasks that repeat every few hours for activities like drinking water, stretching breaks, or checking…

  10. Contacts missing 'state' field

    Not sure why we can't add a "normal" US address to Proton Calendar's Contacts. We have fields for...

    Street Address
    Postal Code
    City
    Region
    Country

    We are missing State.

    I am surprised that it doesn't support a standard US address in this format:

    Street Address
    City, State Zip

    It should also be displayed this way on the contact pop-up screen.

    Please add this functionality.

    Just started using Proton Calendar today and it is missing a LOT of standard functionality.

    It's hard to want to switch over when it can't even support adding Mother's Day as the second Sunday of May…

  11. Private flag in calendar

    My wife sends some invitations from her proton calendar to her work calendar which is based on exchange. She always has to edit these events in work calendar afterwards and set the "private" flag, so that the the details are not visible to colleagues.
    We would need a private flag for events in calendar that can be set, so that it is recognized from exchange and other systems that the invitation/events hast to be set to private state and thus details are not visible in the foreign system. Setting this flag should also work via mobile app.

  12. Ability to Mark event as cancelled, postponed, did not take place

    I wish to have the option to indicate a calendar event with statuses such as:

    "Cancelled"
    "Postponed"
    "Did not take place"
    or similar. This is intended to keep the event logged in the calendar (as it's not deleted) with a corresponding label. Furthermore, the event should be categorised as a "past" event, ensuring that no notifications or concerns arise on the scheduled day.
    A "postponed" event could also be linked to a future event to indicate it was postponed to XYZ. There, it would be easier to automatically clone the main event to date XYZ+3 giving the user to chance…

    Now, the search engine only displays results from the last ONE MONTH... Please make it possible to search for all my events, without any time limit.

  14. 3rd Party API Integration with Odoo Calendar

    My IT company operates on Proton enterprise app suite and Odoo's OpenERP platform. I also use ProtonCalendar for my personal life. It would be a game-changer to be able to push service appointments from my company's Odoo Calendar module into Proton Calendar for tracking all my personal and business happenings in one place.

    I'm sure other businesses who opted for Proton as their underlying communications platform have the exact same issue.

    There needs to be some kind of secure API access that other applications can use for pushing event creation into Proton Calendar.

  15. View Only "This" Calendar and "Show All" calendars

    It would be nice to have the option to click on a certain calendar and hide all other calendars.

    Additionally, it would be nice to have a button that "Shows all" calendars.

  16. Would be nice to have a "reminder" feature in addition to events

    Basically "reminders" as in Google Calendar would be ideal. Main difference with Events is duration (no duration for reminder, a thin line in the calendar) and, most importantly, that reminder moves ahead in time continuously if I did not acknowledge it. By that I mean each time I open calendar I see these reminders that are not done yet. Currently I use Events also for reminders, but if I can't do the task right at the time of notification I easily forget it because I don't see it e.g. the next day.

  17. SCROLLING !

    "Please, consider adding scrolling functionality to your calendar. It's much more convenient to scroll down using the mouse wheel."

    Scrolling down is easier because it requires less effort and allows users to navigate through a large amount of content quickly, especially when compared to clicking through pages or sections.

  18. New calendar item/event copies time from old/previous item with matching name (e.g. work shifts)

    I use Google Calendar but I want to switch to Proton.
    I work irregular (day, evening, night) and I always add my start and end hours in my calendar item. When I add a new "Day Shift" item in the Google Calendar it offers the option to copy the hours over from past events. So you do not have to keep setting the hours everytime you add a 1:1 similar item on another day.
