Desktop App Packaged for Arch Linux and Others
I see that there is a desktop app packaged for Debian and Fedora based distros. It would be great to have a desktop app that could be installed directly as an Arch package. Alternatively, a flatpack, AppImage, homebrew package, or some other distro agnostic binary would be useful, too.

We need any way to install it on any distro, can't be that arch isn't official supported.

I think AppImage would give the greatest benefit. It’s platform agnostic and works out of the box on any distro. Flatpak isn’t shipped on all distros and snap is its own political hot potato.
It also has the portability benefit and so works on any device, great for putting on an otherwise stock live USB stick in your bag.

Supporting just two (non-universal) packaging formats feels like a crime against this community.
At least support flatplak! Please? -

Personally i think proton should only invest their time and effort in flatpacks

How about making official Snap packages?
They can be used on multiple distros, and I am also not a fan of the fact that there are some unofficial wrappers available now. I'd feel much safer using something official.

There is another ticket open for requesting flatpak support that you may be interested in.
