Proton Calendar

  1. Mobile Widget for calender

It'd be super useful if there was a mobile widget for the ProtonCalendar app so I can see my calendar from my home screen

  2. Birthdays automatically transfer from Contacts to Calendar

Proton Contacts allows users to record the birthday for each contact. It would be great if these birthdays could automatically appear in Proton Calendar.

  3. Native Apps for Desktop and Mobile

To make the calendar far more accessible than the current state, native apps should be available for several platforms, both desktop and especially mobile. Currently, mobile devices cannot use Proton Calendar since there is no app or CalDAV support.

  4. Sharing a calendar

    Hello,

I would have 3 proposals related to the sharing of the agenda:
    - Allow to share one of my calendars with another ProtonMail user present in my contacts.
    - Allow to invite another ProtonMail user present in my contacts to participate to an event.
    - Allow a specific ProtonMail user in my contacts to edit one of my calendars.

This is very useful for example when your spouse is not available to know if she will be available at a specific date and to define a date with someone while inviting her to this event.
    This can also be…

  5. Sync with other calendars (Office365, Google)

I use Protonmail for my private calendar, but Outlook/Google for work. I would like to have Proton Calendar integrated in e.d. the Android native app so I have all my calendars in one.

  7. Calendar Search (with Advanced Searching)

It'd be useful to be able to search for the titles of created calendar events, and then jump to them via a click/tap. Perhaps by default, descriptions should be checked when searched.

Like ProtonMail, an advanced search would benefit too for things such as:

    • Events in calendar(s): A, B, C, … [checkable]

    • Events from: 2019-01-01 09:00 to 2020-12-31 21:00

    • Events type: Both, With end and start time, All day

    • Events with notifications [toggle]

    • Events that repeat [toggle]

    • etc…

    Thanks!

  9. Calendar location maps integration (e.g. Open Street Maps)

Being able to choose the location field from a map provider, such as OSM, and make the location field link to map provider website / mobile app.

  10. National Holidays

In some calendar apps, it is possible to import all official/national holidays for a country, for each year.

  11. Agenda list view as in Google Calendar

The web calendar has a "Day", "Week" and "Month" view selection. I suggest adding an "Agenda" view as in Google Calendar. This simply is a list view of coming events.

Why? To present a more compact view of future events.

  12. Ability to use different colors for events in the Calendar.

Apologies if this is already a feature and I couldn't figure it out...

It would be nice to assign calendar events different colors to quickly identify different types of appointments.

Thanks and appreciate all of the great work!!!

  13. Tasks as in Google Calendar

In Google Calendar (app and web), you press the "plus" sign to make a new calendar event. Then you choose between new Activity, Reminder or Task.

A Task presents a notification upon the chosen time, and you mark it as "Done" to archive it. An active task is shown as an event in the calendar, and appears greyed out after marked as done.

My suggestion is to carbon copy this feature into the Proton Calendar.

  14. Allow REAL OFFLINE appointment/event creation

Dear Proton Team, I know you do your best to offer us more than excellent services :-). BUT, I am really disappointed not to be able to create appointments/events when I am offline on my phone...Sometimes as I sit in a meeting, or over the phone, or at my dentist ;-) I have no time to establish a connection (Wifi or Data) before creating the event...This should be possible, and the synchro can take place later, when a connection is established. It is true that I can check offline the events already created. But not create new ones....This point will…

  16. Reminders: Events that trigger a notification on the event time, then get deleted

Currently I use a "Temporary" calendar for one-time events that are simply reminders.

It'd be great if there was an option for created events, or perhaps a special "Reminders" calendar that would make the event to trigger a notification on the event time itself (but still allowing for notifications leading up to it if desired).

Ideally, I'd like reminders to have a self-destruct type option so they'd be deleted after being triggered as to not clutter up the calendar with old, now irrelevant, items. Perhaps there could be a cooldown period, such as delete after X minutes/hours/days/weeks, or immediately.

    I…

  17. sending calendar invite to person

I use a calendar to schedule meetings with others. If I can't invite someone to a calendar event it defeats the purpose of using your calendar.

  19. Reminders as in Google Calendar

In Google Calendar (app and web), you press the "plus" sign to make a new calendar event. Then you choose between new Activity, Reminder or Task.

A Reminder presents a notification upon the chosen time, and you mark it as "Done" to archive it. An active reminder is shown as an event in the calendar, and appears greyed out after marked as done.

My suggestion is to carbon copy this feature into the Proton Calendar. Why? Because the reminders feature in Google Calendar works great, they appears as "event instants" and is easier/ more lightweight to enter than an activity.

  20. Event entry: Better date format parsing

Problem: When entering events, navigating the date picker calendar isn't very quick.

Suggested solution: 1) Date text automatically selects (in addition to date picker popping up), so it's easy to start typing date in text format. 2) Typing date format should parse more date formats than "Mmm DD, YYYY" (e.g., "Mmm DD YYYY", "DD Mmm YY", "YYYY-MM-DD", "YY-MM-DD")
