Make Linux desktop app (Arch/Deb/RHL)121 votes
SimpleLogin works very well with Proton Mail, and it's great that this is now included in certain paid subscriptions, however there are some opportunities for a more seamless integration in the Proton Mail apps (Web and Mobile), in particular:
Option to show actual email address as sender instead of reverse-alias under "From" (i.e. use "X-Simplelogin-Envelope-From" email header where enabled instead of "From").
Option to select email alias as sender under "From" (in the same way as "real" addresses/mailboxes) and then use actual email addresses (rather than the reverse-aliases) under "To", and have Proton Mail automatically use…

Please speed up the development of your android application. Your iOS app has features that are not in the Android app. It just seems like a shame. Could you please speed up adding anti-tracking features (tracker blocking and picture uploads with IP hiding) to the android app as well? It would also be desirable to add the toolbar customization feature as well.
Please note that all these features are already available in iOS application, while there are practically no innovations in Android application. This is just a shame and shame for such a huge company.368 votes
Please enable SMTP Tokens feature (https://proton.me/support/smtp-submission) also for Proton Unlimited accounts.74 votes
Please allow the app to perform offline operations (read any and all inbox email, delete, write and send emails), which will be queued for syncing whenever online. Same for calendar events.
As it is now, any email sending/deleting, calendar event creation etc will FAIL if the phone happens to be disconnecting from wifi, changing networks or any of the thousands of possibilities of a mobile device moving around at all times. Any other Android email client knows to queue these tasks offline (ie, gmail OUTBOX folder), and sync them with the server at any available time it manages to connect,…32 votes
Yesterday I used Google Contacts (and/or the default Huawei contacts) app on my Android phone.
Tomorrow, I will use the secure and lovely Proton Contacts app for Android (and possibly iOS - there are probably iOS users who would want this, too).
From this Proton Contacts app, I will also be able to do my regular calls, browse call logs, see favourite contacts and groups for contacts, and utilize a search function for it all.
Please strongly consider making this tomorrow today, Proton Team <3

Hello Outlook.com now is accepting to choose what alias can be used to login on account to improve security.
Why Proton mail dont do the same thing? with this we are protected from botnets(credential stuffing or brute force), because we can create a alias and dont share the username with anyone.
Direct reference to the existing feedback:
Can no longer upvote that one so I'm creating a new one, hoping at some point Proton will give an update on this. I switched from Google thinking "what could possibly be missing in the year of 2023 that would be considered basic functionality" and its this, turns out.87 votes
I would like to auto-forward email based on the address it was sent to (the recipient).31 votes
Folder and label organization needs to improve.
One should have the oportunity to at least sort alphabet and date added. When creating labels and folders, and when you have a lot of sub-folders it tends to get really messy and it's time consuming to try to organize this manually with drag and drop.27 votes
In the Protonmail mobile app, you can log in with multiple accounts at the same one, but only one of these accounts is allowed to be on the free plan, even if you have another paid account.
I understand the restriction when using only free accounts, but I already pay for my main account. I need to monitor two mailboxes of groups/organizations that I'm in. Both of them are on the free plan, which means I have to choose which one I add even though I pay for my main account.24 votes
The "block messages from this sender" option is great. Please add an option beneath to "block messages from this domain" because future messages from the domain still require blocking. This would save lots of time compared to the Filters page in settings.35 votes
Title says everything. Now we can only export to .eml, .pdf would be incredibly useful.13 votes
I was very excited to see that security key support was added! Please now allow me to disable the authenticator app -- I only want my hardware keys as my second factor.168 votes
2FA / MFA should be the accepted standard for improved security by now?! Even Amazon supports OTP by Yubikey with YubiAuthenticator. Any Phone based OTP or 2FA App is inherently unpleasant. So why not support hardware tokens or OTP without the App? I don't quite see the point of being forced to use the App to activate 2FA. Unless this has marketing reasons - but come on we're talking security here - that's why we love ProtonMail. Pretty please with sugar on top: Give us OTP and Yubikey support without the App. Thank You kindly.11 votes
Currently on the web UI, the time of the email is positioned in the main list on the right, or top right in the preview of a selected email.
But ONLY when its today. As soon as its yesterday or before, you only get the day. You then have to click down arrow icon to show the full date and time.
Showing the date and time could be an optional feature, which would only mean the ability to set whether that down arrow is a default of down or up per user.
That would at least mean the preview of…7 votes
I understand that you're not getting money by selling our data but Proton basic plan is so poor. For example, we can only add 3 folders. I wanted to switch from Gmail to Protonmail but even that is blocking me from doing so. I think, over time, when you add new features, some old features which were paid should come free to get more user base.14 votes
This would allow me to set a setting in the Mobile App that would tell the app to download all messages and their attachments to my local device.
The mobile device would have every email in the account that is on the server, stored in the app on the local device. This would bring the mobile app to parity with "desktop" email apps that usually do download all emails to the local device
Benefits would include
- being able to search all emails and their contents including attachments locally very fast without having to ask the server to search stuff…15 votes
