  1. Sign into multiple accounts using desktop app

The Beta Windows desktop app used to support multiple windows - I could have one window for each email account (I have two) and one for the calendar. This worked very well.

Now the app only allows one window, clicking on the start menu item just brings the current window forward. There's no support for multiple accounts in the app itself so it's now unusable for my usage case.

This may not be the right forum for this, I can't find a Beta program feedback forum or development roadmap anywhere.

  2. Export emails to PDF

Title says everything. Now we can only export to .eml, .pdf would be incredibly useful.

  3. Add "The Recipient" as a condition for auto-forwarding email

I would like to auto-forward email based on the address it was sent to (the recipient).

  4. Maintain checkbox selection, even when clicking into an email

I'm often going through emails to decide which I can delete. I'll have several emails already selected. If I click into one of the emails and then back out, all of my selections are gone. This has happened many times and is very frustrating.

  5. Allow more than one free account in the app when signed in with a paid account

In the Protonmail mobile app, you can log in with multiple accounts at the same one, but only one of these accounts is allowed to be on the free plan, even if you have another paid account.
I understand the restriction when using only free accounts, but I already pay for my main account. I need to monitor two mailboxes of groups/organizations that I'm in. Both of them are on the free plan, which means I have to choose which one I add even though I pay for my main account.

  6. Import own OpenPGP subkeys only

Allow users to import just the encryption and signing subkeys, without the OpenPGP master key.

Users can generate new subkeys just for Proton Mail. The scope of the keys becomes limited. Independent revocation becomes possible. The keys are exported to keyservers under the user's own identity. Proton Mail becomes part of the decentralized web of trust.

No impact on Proton Mail's usability. Users can still use the keys generated on the servers. Advanced users gain the option to maintain full and exclusive control over their OpenPGP identity while benefiting from Proton Mail's services.

  7. Use proton.ch domain

Some users want to use a domain that is under Swiss jurisdiction. This is why Proton lets us end our addresses with protonmail.ch.

However, that domain is quite long. This is why Proton added pm.me as an alias and then added proton.me as an optional ending.

The .me domain is under the jurisdiction of Montenegro, who is a member of NATO and is joining the European Union.

Proton owns the proton.ch domain. Please let us end our email addresses with proton.ch instead of proton.me.

  8. Native desktop application instead of web wrapper

The current ProtonMail Windows desktop app looks like a zero-effort separate web window.

Instead, it should be a fully-featured client app, similar to the very well-built "eM Client."

  10. Option for persistent timestamp

Currently on the web UI, the time of the email is positioned in the main list on the right, or top right in the preview of a selected email.

But ONLY when its today. As soon as its yesterday or before, you only get the day. You then have to click down arrow icon to show the full date and time.

Showing the date and time could be an optional feature, which would only mean the ability to set whether that down arrow is a default of down or up per user.

That would at least mean the preview of…

  11. Change default time for snooze settings

The new snooze feature is great, but it defaults to 09:00. When I check my email in the morning it's earlier than 09:00, so it would be helpful to have a way to change the default settings for this.

  12. Disable swipes

There should be a possibility to disable swipes (either left to right, or right to left) on the phone app. More often than not I'm marking emails as spam or deleting them, just because I'm touching the interface.

  13. Search results should display folder name

Search results display lists out all the emails that fit the search results (the search report). This shows one line per email of basic data about that email. This will show label name in the custom color--which is very helpful. However, if the email is located / assigned to a folder, the one-line display in this report/list shows a folder icon but no folder NAME.

Even if I open that email to look at all of that email's data, there is NO indicator of where this email is located. As of March 2024, it can only exist in one folder.…

  14. Button to split and merge conversation - or fix it to be on par with Gmail

    Feature request:

    • Either fix the conversation view to be on-par with Gmail. (not just group by subject)
    • Or a "split from conversation" or "merge into conversation" button to fix the conversations/emails I selected. I was hoping to help Proton learn with bigdata eventually, and resolve my immediate problem.

    Problem example 1

    • Conversation view enabled me to migrate from Gmail to Proton. I pay for it but it is still broken and not on-par.
    • I have emails by different people/organisations being grouped because they have the same short subject.
    • This likewise results in the carefully crafted labels that should be different,…

  15. Proton Android - Please move the 'Messaged Moved to Trash' above the bottom toolbar

Please move the "Message Moved to Trash" popup to above the toolbar when deleting a message.

There are times when I want to click one of the buttons after deleting a message from the inbox and the popup just sits there in the way.

  17. Use @passmail.com domain

Another similar request was made here:
    https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/47150074-allow-use-of-passmail-net-domain-for-default-emai

But I would like to use the @passmail.com domain when making a new address on my account. That domain is far more reasonable to say over the phone instead of protonmail.com or pm.me. :)

  18. Family plan with 6 custom domains

It wouldn't be uncommon for a family seeking this type of service to require 6 individuals with personalized email domains, each having their own unique domain. The fact that the individual plan provides 3 custom domains for a single user leads me to believe that it would be reasonable to expect that in a plan for 6 users, each person could have at least one domain.

  20. Right Click / Context Menu to copy email links on web / desktop

When I'm about to click a link in an email I often copy it in to the browser I want, or hoverer it to check for phishing links. This isn't possible in ProtonMail Web or Mac.
