Maintain checkbox selection, even when clicking into an email
I'm often going through emails to decide which I can delete. I'll have several emails already selected. If I click into one of the emails and then back out, all of my selections are gone. This has happened many times and is very frustrating.

I also want to be able to select all, go to page 50 of 100, deselect a few emails, and have it understand that I want all of the selected, except for the deselected.

Yes, the boundaries of the checkbox should also be fixed so that the whole visual of the box is active for selection even when the mouse pointer is towards the lower edge. if the mouse is too low, but still over the box, the box is not actually active for selecting and will instead open the email if you click and then you lose all prior selections.

Yes! This. I check 20 emails I want to delete then accidentally click right next to the check box and all my work is undone!

When selecting multiple emails for deletion, if an email is accidentally clicked on and opened, it deselects all the previously selected emails, requiring them to be selected again. It would be very helpful if they could remain selected after opening an email.

This effects me every day. Please fix. Definitely, the program should save your selections when you back out of a message. But it would also help if the selection area was larger. 100% of the time when I am selecting messages to trash, I accidentally click just outside the checkbox area and then I'm forced to open the message, which removes all selections. Please fix!

Absolutely insane that this is even a problem in 2024. Please impliment this. Terribly infuriating to lose 30+ selected mails because you misclick by 2 pixels

On the web version, if I'm going down a list within a folder or search results and multi-selecting messages, sometimes I accidentally click into a message, and when I press the back button, all my selections have been cleared. This is incredibly frustrating!!
