integrate email with drive to send and download files directly to/from drive in desktop app and on web for when drive is not available locally

Yes! Directly saving email attachments to Drive. Manually just browse&save, and with rules automatic saving: when email from x, then automatically save attachments in Drive folder y.
And sending file (links) by browsing in Mail to file in Drive. Select file, and proton creates link in email.
