An encrypted video call integrated into Proton Mail would be perfect.

The 15-20$ per month would be a great deal for the whole business suite if there would be a secure alternative to Google Meet and Zoom. But right now it doesn’t matter to my team because Proton lacks this essential business feature.

Honestly, I don't think this should be a priority over other improvements Proton should make because there are lots of FOSS and secure solutions out there, often hosts of Jitsi. Though Jitsi requires login through a third party to host a meeting, other companies host it, such as Brave, without requiring an account (I know Brave requires payment for more participants but if Proton were to list it, they also would likely charge for more participants as they currently charge for their other products).

if you are looking for am E2EE alternative to teams, for the time being i'd recommend looking at matrix/element. It is decentralized tho which can be a bit of a learning curve and would really like to see porton make a matrix server or in some way do for collaboration like the did for PGP email

I agree with this idea. Before seeing this, I posted a video app recommendation that is HIPPA compliant with a BAA.

While a video conferencing tool was mentioned in the 2024 survey, I wanted to emphasise the value this would have. For those of us who try to stay away from Big Tech providers, video conferencing for things like scheduled catch-ups with friends is one area where existing alternatives are limited.

Signal have done a great job with their video chat option, however this is fundamentally different from a conferencing tool that can be integrated and managed from a calender, and scheduled with invites in advanced.

IMO this would be a great addition to Proton Calender, which is a cool tool, but admittedly the only tool in the Proton suite that I do not use (largely due to this lacking functionality).

Preferably this would not require recipients of call invites to have a proton account, else you're limiting yourself significantly. While I can understand why one would need a proton subscription to send invites, it would be great if the meeting tool made use of 'Suggest changes' like those in Google meet, that would be open to recipients, so that those recieving invites can suggest a new time that works for them, rather than having to decline and then the proton user send out another email.

As much as I like this idea and agree heavily with this idea they would need significantly more users as you would need others to agree to use it especially having businesses use proton over things such as MS Teams for it to be viable. I hope proton becomes big enough to eventually get there, that starts with getting people to actually care about their data though.
