Proton Pager
A stand alone Application for mobile, desktop and laptop Operating systems (Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, MAC OS, Linux).
It would be made to receive messages, for example:
- 2FA / OTP codes;
- Recover access to accounts;
- Contact a group of off duty firefighters requesting additional help;
- Contact medic personal inside some hospital for some emergency happening;
- Inform the user of some burglar or fire alarm system activation;
- Request company internal IT team members to contact company because there is a critical problem;
- To receive emergency alerts from local authorities.
etc.
The idea is that users would install the application in one or more devices with a ID system independent of all other services including Proton (so it can be used for example to recover even Proton accounts, since it would be a sort of SMS application but secure and just to receive messages).
The user would add the sender ID to their application, to allow receive messages from the sender. The Proton servers responsible for the distribution would receive the authorization from the client application to receive messages from that sender ID to that receiver ID.
And if at any moment in the future the receiver ID removes the sender ID the server would also remove the sender ID and deny future messages from being delivered to the receiver ID.
You can charge all senders for the access to the network, or charge per message, or per message and number of users, or have some free tiers depending on usage, or be all free to make Proton even more important world wide.
Plugins to easily integrate into existing popular Content Management Systems (CMS) should be available, beside API's.
Obviously should encrypt the contents to that receiver unique encryption key that would be different for every sender ID, so that if some attacker can decipher that encryption key, as long he doesn't know about the others encryption keys used for others senders, the rest of the communication should stay safe.
If it is a two-way communication Proton Pager, may allow bots to operate in a better way since people can start/ stop information if that is made available by the sender (example: just receive news about Proton Mail and recovery of account but not the other services.)
Maybe have different tabs for different thematic, example in Proton if the user subscribed "Security notifications", "Recover", "Mail" those tabs would appear associated to that Sender ID. It should be possible to mute those individual tabs, or even the sender ID, should it be something not so important for the user that needs immediately attention (example: some sport web site that is constantly sending the latest news).
