  1. Copy suggested password

When setting a new password for an account, Proton Pass suggests a new password, and usually it is a complex one. This is great, but I must be able to copy it in order to actually use this password. That is, at least when this password has not yet been actually used and stored in the Proton Pass secure vault.

Some account creation procedures enable users to "unmask" a password. In these cases usually an eye icon appears at the right side of the new password field. Clicking this icon unmasks the password and users can copy the password that…

  3. Search passwords in the extension pop-up window

I use websites that have multiple mirrors and it's really annoying to save each login for each mirror. If we could search for passwords in the extension pop-up window, I wouldn't have to save a new password for every single mirrored site.

  4. Vault Lock (Folder Lock) for extra security

    Enhanced Security:
Empower users with the ability to lock individual vaults for example Personal and Work Vault.

    Tailored Privacy:
Customize security measures for your most sensitive data.

I recommend introducing a new feature that allows users to lock individual vaults within the app. This feature would significantly enhance security and privacy, offering users a tailored and customizable way to safeguard their most sensitive data of their Personal or Work Vaults. For instance, consider being able to share your WorkVault password with a colleague to grant them access to specific information without compromising the privacy of your Personal Vault. It's a…

  5. KeePass Import (with direct/secure option).

Currently to import from KeePass it is necessary to export all the password database to a plain-text (non-encrypted) file before being able to import in ProtonPass.

I'd really be more comfortable if there was a way to directly import from a KeePass database, without "breaking" the security, not even temporarily.

KeePass is open-source and it should be possible to develop an importer directly (e.g. that requires you the password to unlock the database, and then does everything securely).

  6. Add 2FA for logging in to ProtonPass

To just have a PIN code feels a bit unsafe. Could you add 2FA as an option along with the PIN?

Dashlane has this feature already and it adds an extra layer of security. To only have a 6 number pin code for all your usernames and passwords is madness..

  7. Auto / Bulk change passwords on websites with generated passwords.

This is a super lofty request but would absolutely crush competition. Allow an end-user to "bulk" change passwords with proton pass's auto generated passcodes (more secure). It would trigger a request to each of the unique domains and (magically) go through their password reset process and change it to the newly generated passcode. If it "fails", just report back a "fail" and those passcodes can be changed manually. It would be amazing to be able to update all passwords simultaneously as part of a routine security measure.

  8. Sign git commits with SSH key

One feature of 1Password that I find really valuable is signing git commits with SSH keys. In the past, I've tried to set up commit signing with Github through other methods, but 1Pass simplified the process and made it really easy to do. (Details: https://blog.1password.com/git-commit-signing/.) Though this may be a feature that serves a small(er) user base, it factors into whether or not I'd switch to Proton Pass from 1Password.

    Here's another related request: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass/suggestions/46853296-ssh-agent

  9. Related domains

We should have a catalog of related domains that use the same login credentials, similar to what LastPass offers. This way, when I add a domain to ProtonPass, it will recognize related domains and suggest autofill options for those sites as well

  10. Custom domain for aliases

There are some sites that do not allow using aliases from proton. I want to be able to add my own domains that could be used not only in proton mail, but also in aliases.

  11. Add equivalent URLs setting to avoid creating/maintaining duplicate passwords

Many sites redirect to another location to authenticate or use different URLs to connect to essentially the same site. LastPass has an extendable database to allow for this. For example: bing.com hotmail.com live.com microsoft.com msn.com windows.com windowsazure.com office.com skype.com azure.com. These use the same login. The ones that are well known can be provided as a default set (editable, obviously), but also allow the user to add their own as they discover them.

I have difficulty reading text on a black background (possibly because I'm color blind). I would really appreciate a white background option.

  13. Set password expiry

There should be a way to enable a way to tell how old a password is for a specific website. There should be a way to enable a 90 Day Password age setting. Which you can enable on a password. Or disable on specific passwords you don’t want it on.

  14. Challenge-response with yubikey

KeepassXC and Keepass2Android have the option to use challange-response to decrypt the database. I really dont trust in only need an pin on my device to keep my passwords and passkeys safe. The KeepassXC Challange-response changes the set of static password (formed with yubikey challenge and a password) every time that the database is changed a bit.

  15. Display logins promintently (reveal other item types by category at top)

Love the app. The only thing that bugs me is that alias, and logins, credit cards, and others are mixed together. I understand there is a filter list to just see logins, alias, etc. But this should not be the way to filter the categories as it may be confusing to new users. It should be as simple as can be without to many button presses. Logins should be the first thing a user sees when opening the app. There should be categories at the top that says the number of items within the category and should be shown left…

  16. Include version number in patch notes

When a new feature is added to proton pass, in the description of said new feature (in my case the addition of the passkeys feature), display somewhere what version it will start with (I updated to v1.16.1 but don't see passkeys anywhere). So it would be nice to see what version I will have when the option is available. Thanks!

  17. Search only by website

We need an option to only search by site domain, instead of everything being fuzzy searched.

Use case: I have my domain, and I run different services on them. When I am on my domain ex. admin.domain.tld and click on proton pass, I see every site that I registered with my domain email. So it is very difficult to see what logins are applicable to the domain that I am currently on.

A certain competitor fixed that by only showing relevant logins when the extension is clicked.

  18. Import/Export 2FA from/to other apps

Some 2FA apps allow to import and export vaults.
E.g.: Aegis allows to import tokens and export the vault or QR codes for Google Authenticator.
It would be great to be able to import from currently used apps.

  20. Extra/separate proton pass credentials & 2fa

I would love to see an opt-in feature that adds:

    1. An extra password (like the mailbox password) or its own password to proton pass.

    2. The ability to select which alias is used to log in, defaulting back to the proton mail address should the alias (accidentally) be deleted.

    3. An optional extra 2fa just for proton pass wouldn’t be too bad either.

Short summary, (optional) separate/extra credentials for accessing the vault than the credentials for all proton services.

This would be great and I think could also be implemented in a way that doesn’t break the current user experience for those…
