barely any password manager has a desktop app so it would really make you stand out. it's also a prerequisite for me to even try using the service

Just in case this helps anyone else. If you're using a newer Mac (M1/M2) and running Ventura or higher- you actually have the ability to run the iPhone/iPad version of Proton Pass on MacOS. Surprisingly, it runs pretty decent. Also gives you offline access to your vaults! It's nice to not have to open chrome just to get a password for a native app.
Just in case, here's more info on how this works with MacOS using Apple silicon: https://support.apple.com/guide/app-store/iphone-ipad-apps-mac-apple-silicon-fird2c7092da/mac

I use many desktop apps (discord, steam, ...) and so do many other people. I could survive without this but it would make life so much easier

Been using password apps for a long time. I do NOT use them on my iPhone or tablet, only on my desktop iMac. PLEASE consider an extension for macOS.
Not critical yet.

If you wana be indepent from big tech this is critical for usage to avoid beeing switched of from all accounts you trusted in.
Happy that ProtonPass is alive, a plugin for Chome helps to survive inbetween.Desktop should be available as flatpak for linux as well to be able to get out of big tech dependencies .

Important but not critical. This feature will be implemented in the future for sure. I don't think it will be for 2023, 2024 maybe ?

I need to copy my credit cards info from 1password to notes in Proton Pass (until you add the support for credit cards..) but I can't because when I create a new note in PP in my browser and switch to 1P to copy the card number, I get back to my browser and the PP is gone since it lost the focus.. Having a desktop app would fix that

As part of the Desktop app functionality, Window identification like in KeePass would be a huge help too.

Please do not forget Linux. Please.

YES please. I'll not solely depend on a online solution for my passwords. I understand that this will be more work, but only accessing your passwords with internet is bad.
Don't forget linux while making the desktop app ;) -

+1 Switching over from NordPass, which has a dedicated desktop app, so it'd be amazing to see a dedicated desktop app for Proton Pass as well.

My one issue with the various Proton apps is that they are browser based. No native desktop component for Drive, Calendar, Mail, or Pass, though I can use Bridge to use a desktop mail app. I'm also able to use . I absolutely HATE having to depend on the browser backend to use most of the services of my subscription.

Linux and Windows apps are a must before I would use this service.

Crucial! Browser Extensions are nice to have a desktop app however is a necessity!
