More Vaults or subvaults
Proton Pass currently allows up to 20 Vaults. My LastPass implementation currently has 44 folders. If "Vaults" are equivalent to "Folders" for organization purposes, I would need to do some innovative reorganizing to cram my hundreds of passwords and other entries into only 20 Vaults. It's not clear to me whether there is a structural reason for this limitation.

With the Unlimited Plan there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of vaults. I have 43 so far. And all of these vaults can be shared although I found that Pass would only let me share 15 per day.

Seems fixed. Unlimited vaults for business at least. I guess could be closed?

Well, to me, they should just have unlimited Vaults, or something like 250 vaults -- maybe 500 vaults. I don't see the deal, unless someone abuses it. Or, charge a small amount, say $5 per extra 100 vaults per year. Honestly, most people would never want to deal with that many vaults, so I think the actual count is a non-issue.

Or, as I am suggesting in some of my posts, they need a Vault Group underneath that acts just like an Account. Then, when you double-click it, a list of sub-accounts appear that you've grouped to that Vault Group within the particular Vault.
For me, it'd be like this. Vault name is "Eat Out Accounts". Then Group Vault underneath would be "Eat Out -- McDonald's Accounts", then in that, I can pull my family's separate MCD's accts (because every person has one now, per app) into that Group. So, it'd be "MCD -- me", "MCD -- wife", "MCD -- daughter", "MCD -- son", "MCD -- dog1", "MCD -- dog2", etc.

I've been using KeePassXC for years and it's currently my go-to for managing more than 500 different accounts/passwords for the whole family and work.
Proton Pass is making huge improvements and especially on mobile devices it is showing its strength.
But with only 20 vaults and no subcategories (even with Proton Family subscriptions) it's difficult to manage a large number of accounts.
Adding subcategories is the minimum necessary. -

This is a critical change for me. Having tried to import 75 folders from Keeper, Proton Pass rejected the import with hard failures. It was a partial import of 599 from 1,043 records. For a second import, I flattened the Keeper folder structure and again, the same failure. Proton support tells me there is a maximum 20 vaults. Like Bill Walton says, twenty vaults is not enough and I have suggested 100 vaults. As much as I am trying to move more of my services to Proton, this is a game stopper.
