  2. Switch ProtonMail TLD

When signing up, you can choose between username@protonmail.com or username@protonmail.ch; picking one makes other unavailable to anyone else, however it is also unusable by yourself as well. It would be great if we could either have the option to switch from .com to .ch (or vice-versa), or alternatively if both versions would "just work" out of the box so we don't have to choose after all!

  3. Include an option to simply delete any incoming except from those in our Proton address book.

Some of us use Protonmail for "best practice" in protecting sensitive information between business contacts or close friends. We have "public" email accounts for all other purposes. It would be very good to have an option to only accept email from the contact addresses in our Proton Address Book. That way, all others could be simply "black-holed" without delivery. In the case of an applicant for a sensitive position we would add their email address during the application phase. If the address was later removed from the Proton Address Book it would require that person to use the "public" email…

  5. sign all nonencrypted emails to outside

When using my non-protonmail account, I currenty sign every Email I send with my private key using thunderbird/enigmail and attach my public key. People who do not know how to deal with encryption are not bothered by this, but everyone who has a mail-setup that supports encryption will automatically know that
    a) I have a PGP key
    b) all mails signed from that key are from me, or at least are able to get suspicious if my key changes or a non-signed mail arrives
    c) can reply encrypted and attach their key, which will let me know in turn that…

  6. Graceful Failure of Security or Why have Servers Outside of Switzerland

I think ProtonMail should setup incoming mail servers around the world, preferably within every provider (similar to Google's caching infrastructure). Combined with geographical DNS resolution, outside users' emails would always get to a nearby server - where all email is encrypted - before crossing heavily monitored international links.

Yes, those servers might be under surveillance, but this is less damaging than requiring all emails from gmail, hotmail, yahoo... to go past the "five eyes" (and others) before being "kept secret" in Switzerland. Yes, the US might see American emails, and Libya might see Libyan emails, but that's status quo not…

  7. auto-archive incoming messages on addresses / sender / keywords

    Hello,

I would like to have the option that incoming messages are automatically archived to the correct folder based on addresses / sender / keywords. It would save time, keep the inbox tidy, etc

  8. hint

actually, in the Encrypt for non-ProtonMail users option, it's possible to have the same message between the password message and the password hint. It is a serious security problem because the password can be writen in plain text.

  10. Allow only one additional custom domain email address for free accounts.

Bringing free account users the ability to create/add only 'one' custom domain email address. This will be very useful for many bloggers and other online free lancers.

I would like to have the option to delete old invoices when I don't need them anymore. I like to run a tight ship and hate clutter! :)

  13. iOS and Android app, a setting that automticaly locks and requires login when you close the window or go to homescreen

i would like to have a setting that when you close the window or go to homescreen on an ios or android device you automatically have to log back in to protonmail.
this would provide better security if someone has access to your device.

  14. Password to destroy all emails or show fake ones

Hi. What about a password that will erese all your emails?
In case you are forced to give up your password you give them special one that will erese everything.
Optionaly another password that will show fake emails or emails only from one label.

  16. Automatic encrypting of all outgoing messages

working with several email programs simultaneously to conduct personal, company and private/confidential email traffic, I at times overlook to encrypt outgoing ProtonMail. Things are often hectic around here, it happens.

  17. Support TouchID on iOS or Fingerprint+Secure Element to log into the app

To simplify access to the mobile app and maintain a certain level of security, it would be interesting to add as an option to use the secure element for all phones that support it to store the key and allow an easier and quicker login.

  18. Save passwords in drafts

I believe Protonmail is doubly safe to save passwords in mails composed and saved as draft, but there is no option to edit a draft and save it again as the same draft, everytime I change the matter it saves as another draft which gets very confusing. Can it be made to have an edit draft option?

  19. Enforce encryption with an outside receipient in a response thread

It appears that if an encrypted email is sent to an external recipient that it is only good for one turnaround (send-reply). It seems that if the original sender needs to keep the thread going but fails to encrypt the message again that it can be sent un-encrypted, (send>respond>respond>respond>...).

Although this a user error, if done it would mean that the text in the original message which was encrypted would now be visible. In other words if an encrypted message is sent to an external recipient then the entire thread must be forced to be encrypted.
