Contact birthdays appear on Calendar
Proton Contacts allows users to record the birthday for each contact. It would be great if these birthdays could automatically appear in Proton Calendar.

I would welcome this feature for those who are considering Proton as a secure alternative to using traditional cloud-based contacts syncing.

Birthdays and potentially other specified dates too, e.g. anniversaries

@Izis F: I would agree with you but the idea is based on using dates within Proton contacts rather than those contacts outside of the Proton realm.

This feature is concerning because it would require sharing our contact list, which goes against our privacy philosophy.
If you decide to implement it, please include an option for users to choose whether they want to use this feature or not.

Yes...please do this! This would be an incredible contact management feature for busy professionals who value maintaining good relationships!

Too Bad I spent all my votes. This would effectively remove my dependency on less secure stuff for this.

would love to see this feature, always loved it in the apple calendar app, that it showed up including their age, nice little feature :)

I actually assumed that this option would be available already, since it is such a basic feature. But after going through all the settings, it turned out it was not.
When implemented, it would be great to have an automatic reminder notification also included.

I would love to see this feature....in fact it would make sense to actually have all contact fields of type date/time show up in calendar...

Hello, same as others. The day it is implemented, I can remove my google birthday calendar, stop feeding that company with people's data, and have my spouse create a proton calendar for our shared one, which is also currently on google.

IT would be so helpful but IS there a Contacts for Proton? Or did you mean Google?

The only reason I can't switch to proton calendar exclusively is this missing feature

It is important to add these anniversary days, so I won't have to use Google calender anymore.

This is the reason I don't use proton calender exclusively. But it's a hassle to work with two calendars. For me it will make all the difference for swapping to Proton completely.

This is important because currently I have to duplicate effort, and that's not fun for a lazy person. iOS has a nice feature that when the notification pops up, it calculates the age, and I don't have to do math (again I'm either too busy or lazy, you decide). I use the dates in the contact list to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, and when people pass away. I am agnostic to having a switch to include/exclude a particular contact's date from the calendar as someone suggested earlier. And one more thing... If this feature lands, the other request for expanding the range outside of 1970 to 2037 becomes less important.

Always used the standard and simple contact app (and calendar app) on windows. Now that Microsoft is pushing for contacts through Outlook i'm looking for an alternative. Proton seemed logical, as i already use their e-mail and calendar. I always enjoyed that the birthdays of my contacts automatically appeared (recurringly) in the calendar app on windows. Would be a real improvement to me in proton as a well.
