auto advance on Archive email
When I archive an email it advances automatically to the next email. I wish for that to be an optional setting, so users can choose if they prefer to go to the inbox (current design) or go to the next email. (and next being either the next newer message or the next older message)
Furthermore if the user is already looking at the newest message, and there is no newer message, it instead just goes to the next new message (in gmail it annoyingly goes to the inbox if there is no newer message)

This feature request gets my vote. A true quality-of-life feature that is currently missing. I tend to read oldest unread message first, so I'd like the same options as in gmail to choose between "go to next (newer)" and "go to previous (older)".

This really needs to become a feature! When using the MacOS app, the 2-column layout is basically useless. Once you delete or move the active email being delayed on the right side, that entire column goes blank and you need manually open the next unread email. Doesn't sound like much, but this actually takes up a ton of time when going through many unread emails.

Also migrated to Proton expecting to be able to use existing Gmail shortcuts and not being able to auto advance to the next email is a huge time sink. This probably increases the time to get through my inbox 5-10x so would really appreciate adding it.

This applies to both Row and Column layout, from my inbox I use the shortcut 'a' to Archive an email (should be e to align with Gmail, but that is another issue), but then I get sent back to the list of all emails in the inbox or if in column layout I just get nothing.. instead it should go to the NEXT email in the inbox, and so on, so that, like gmail, you can really quickly clear the inbox and use shortcuts that actually speed up work.
Instead, as it stands right now, I must get my mouse and select the next email, then hit 'a' again, then go and select another one. I may as well just hit the archive button with the mouse, the keyboard shortcut isn't shorter because there is no keyboard flow.
Please please sort this out, in tandem with aligning shortcuts more generally, and doing the same for labels too - such as the gmail 'v' for label and archive (and go to next email)

+100 This simple feature would make processing my email so much faster. Just being able to quickly sift through my email by repeatedly hitting a single key: archive and next.

Extremely annoying to not have this as an option after migrating from gmail, where <ctrl>+<}> and <ctrl>+<{> which corresponds to archive mail and go to next mail and archive mail and go to previous mail was basically my entire workflow.
The optimal workflow for me would be:
- Upon archiving move to the next newer mail. If there is no next mail, go to the previous instead (this supports a workflow where you start from the most recent mail which is nice when dealing with overfull inbox)
- Upon deleting the same advancement behavior would be niceThis would actually be better for me than what gmail offers as it'd make it easier to delete useless mails (the gmail shortcuts are a bit convoluted and made me just never delete mails at all).

I need this, like in Gmail. Now, every time I archive something I need to do an additional click. I want it to send me to the next unread email.
