Just switched from Mail Plus to Duo and added my wife. We absolutely need to be able to make our shared calendar the default. As the creator, I can select it as my default but my wife can't select it as her default. The option saves time and helps to reduce putting events on the wrong calendar. Not obvious to me why this is such an issue.

We need this, too—too easy to forget to switch new events to shared calendar and create scheduling problems!

We need this as we share a calendar within the family!

Trying to convince my family to use Proton as the main calendar, this functionality is missed very much!

I agree with most of the comments below, this is a HUGE feature to have in order to jump ship to this calendar. Shared calendar as default is a massive need!

This is a massive miss by Proton for Duo account users. Isn't the point of Duo to link people?

My wife and myself were using iCloud calendar because (as others have stated) we want to (by default) add, delete appointments we have , and by default want this to be the calendar that is selected on my wife's iPad when she adds a calendar event. I didn't realize this was not part of the functionality or we would have not gone with the Proton Duo account for 2 years. This is so frustrating that if I could get a refund I would drop the Duo account and go back to the plus account, and continue to use iCloud for calendars

Yes, David, you would think being able to set the default calendar would not be a big coding change.

This cant be hard to implement.

As a business user, we need a common place for our team to add meetings, leave, events etc by default. Not sure why this hasn't happened yet

This is also a helpful feature, but a prerequisite is ensuring all members with edit access can actually edit a shared calendar from all endpoints (web, iOS, Android). Currently, this feature is missing in at least iOS. Please fix that critical gap.

I'm adding my +1 here as well. My situation is the same as many others. My wife and I share a calendar and Proton and it would be nice for her, who is not as technically savvy as me, to be able to have the calendar as default so she can quickly post events in the calendar and we both will be notified and given appropriate heads up. Why it has been two years since Proton has considered this I don't know, and I'm sure it's not a whole lot of work for them to implement this; Please Proton, do this much sooner, rather than later. Thanks!

A workaround for now is to have two shared calendars (Family 1, Family 2), one created by me, one by my wife. We set the same color and the one created by me is my default, the one created by her is her default. The events are in two calendars, but all the views look the same.

But of course it would be better to have an option not to do workarounds.

The originator of this idea stated it perfectly: my wife and I want a single shared calendar that is our default calendar.

agree with the others here, my family keep getting crossed wires because we cant make the family calendar default and it just adds to their personal.

This feels like an incredibly basic but very useful addition. Cant believe this was posted in 2023 and it's not gotten added yet, specially with a paid tier for families.
