Minimize desktop app to system tray
Ability to minimize Proton Mail Desktop app to the system tray (notification area) to keep it from taking up space on the taskbar.
Icon in notification should show unread message count.

The (WINDOWS) Protonmail App is a step forward, but desperately needs to:
have an option to minimize to the TRAY when closing
Clicking the Notification in Windows 11, does NOTHING, it should bring the app and the message to the forefront.
The option to change the interval for checking new mail, from REAL TIME to 5 minute intervals

Basic usability function that even most generic frameworks have built-in. Eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Thanks!

This is basic functionality and as a paying member I am disappointed this doesn't exist yet. This essentially forces me to use 3rd party apps.

I had not suspected that this function does not exist here...

On a multidesktop environment the system tray is the same for every desktop. But if the app is in the taskbar I always have to switch back to that specific desktop to use the app. It's annoying.

I spent so long looking for this option in the client because I could not believe that it wouldn't have such a fundamental feature...

The option to minimize to tray on close would be amazing.

+1 for this on Linux.
Also an option to store credentials.
Everytime...
Ask me for 2FA after some time or on startup or whatever, but don't let me open my Pw Manager and copy paste my password... please!
(I know, this is not asked here, but a closed app + the credential issue = super annoying) -

Minimize to tray would be the only reason to prefer the app over the web version. -

In the Windows App, make the X not close the app. Let it stay running and just minimize the app to the systray. I'm coming to Proton Mail from gmail and EMclient for the PC. I found EMclient's 'minimize to systray' option in settings to be very helpful. When the mouse hovers over the X, it shows black, not red, so you know it will minimize.

Systray behavor (minimize on systray, close on systray, ...)
Launch at system startup
Nofification on taskbar icon (like discord)
Windows Notifications on/off (I don't like that but I guess others can use it) -

I was honestly shocked that this feature wasn't included on release. I thought this was one of the major benefits of having a desktop app in the first place. I keep a lot of things open throughout the day; being able to reduce some taskbar clutter would be fantastic.

Minimize to tray is absolutely needed for Windows users, along with start with system startup.

Auto start application, minimize to tray options (on close, on minimize), auto start application to tray. These are all the required features I need before switching from the Electron Mail client.
