I have to check the app constantly to make sure I'm not missing time-sensitive emails from clients. It's a major time-waster.

I’m really surprised this wasn’t available on day one. A critical feature that should be a very straightforward implementation.

Still no implementation? I want to use this app as default but not until I can see there are messages waiting. It needs to count unread mail autofiled into folders as well if poss.

A count of unread messages would be great, but at this point ANYTHING!
Even just a flag or marker on the icon to indicate that their is new mail available. -

If this feature came I would make protonmail my primary email application. Now I'm stuck with Thunderbird to get notifications.

It would be very useful to have an unread messages alert in the Proton Icon on the Mac OS desktop app. If there's one there, I've not figured out how to implement it.

Hello,
please add an unread count to the Mac app symbol of the newly introduced beta app. -

Yes guys, this is required. Like Google offers for gmail, so you don't have to click the browser tab every now and then to check if there are any incoming emails.
Notifications is not the best solution or alternative, as you may not want to show everyone (while in a zoom call for instance) your personal messages received (that's why I don't like Notifications).

Add an app icon with a count of all unread messages similar to what Gmail/iCloud/Outlook icon's do.
